As an indispensable part of citizen political socialization, political socialization of universitystudents is one kind of political attitudes and values formed by university students under theinfluence of university, family, peers, society, mass media and other factors. At the same time, political socialization of university students is externalized to be political participation and behavior, playing an important role in the construction of China·s socialist democratic politics, as well asheritage and evolution of socialist political culture. The thesis attempts to answer the following questions:In the context of globalization, globalization and social development approach and productionpatterns greatly motivate the all-round development of school education, family education conceptand changes in the relationship among family members, diverse ways of communication amongpeers, changes of society economics and politics, innovation of media technology andcommunication patterns, and changes in the political environment and so on. Undoubtedly, it bringsgreat impact on political socialization of university students of contemporary China. Therefore, thethesis tries to understand the structural composition of political socialization of university studentsby using the structural equation modeling, at the same time to build a scientific complete three-dimensional system of political socialization of university students and to promote collaborativeinteractions between the system and the individual. The following conclusions can be drew from the thesis:1. Questionnaire surveys and interviews are conducted in representative universities of China.Structural equation model changes the variables which cannot be directly measured into potentialcausal variables judgments. By using competition model, the thesis obtains four exogenous latentvariables "university political education","family politics genetic"," peer groups political influence" and "political ecology", two endogenous latent variables "political awareness" and "politicalparticipation", and finds the influence of the mediator latent bariable "all media political communication", forming "university students’ political socialization structural equation model".hn2. All media political communication has played the most prominent role in the politicalsocialization process of university students, forming a significant "intermediary" effect. That alsoproves the changes of information and technology brought by globalization, and accelerates theformation of all media. University students not only enjoy the convenience brought by all media, but are worried about "media reality", such as the complexity of new media politics environment, the moral defects of media, foreign media nuisance as well as the trends of "deculturation" and "re-culture" caused by global media hegemony, which have hindered the process of politicalsocialization of university students.3. Political education in colleges and universities plays a significant role in the formation ofuniversity students· political cognitive schemata, and has become an important way of students·political participation. However, in the context of globalization, learning attitude and outcome ofthe political courses is unsatisfactory. This leads to the failure of passing political message, greatresistance of university students· political apprentice in campus politics, limited idea in terms ofideal belief education, national defense in university students· ideological and political work, inadequate culture heritage and development in campus culture, far way between the image ofpolitical authority and university students, little practice in educating students by all theteaching staff, the relationship of university students and university staff not conductive tointerpersonal transference.4. The political environment has become an important and indispensable part of universitystudents’ political socialization and constitutes the experiential political knowledge of universitystudents. University students have their own judgment and consideration concerning nationalcapacity, political functions, various political events, national culture and community groups.Expectations and requirements are raised about the enhancement of the capacity of nationalenculturation, limited government, the role of government in shaping effective, the avoidance ofnegative impacts in economic and diplomatic events, full performance of national culture appeal, public and volunteer service activities conducted by community groups.5. Family politics genetic plays a major role in university students· formation of politicalcognition. In the context of globalization, the political attention, family education of parents and the relationship between university students and their parents actively influence the formation andpassing down of family political conception. However, family political motives are formedaccording to the realities of families. Family political motives and the political person motivesformed by students themselves conflicts with each other, which results in psychological distress ofuniversity students. Thus, political participation of university students has the reverse effect, resulting in a political family genetic incomplete.6. Peer groups play a significant role in university students’ political participation. They payless attention to political problems, and are not good at communicating. Therefore, little mutualinfluence of political awareness as well as an "assimilation" role in political participation is formed.Based on the above studies, double process circleμ mutual construction of university students·political socialization system in the context of globalization should be actively constructed:(1) Establish a self-configuringμ perspective of students· political socialization process circle, emphasizing on the subjectivity of university students, and focusing on the completeness ofpolitical psychology and exercise of political capacity, which includes university students·political interests, political psychology and political efficacy enhancement. In addition topolitical learning and practice competence, it is required that improvement of media literacy isneeded to meet the challenges of all media era.(2) Establish a process of political socialization of university students from the third personperspective, mainly with the angle of political environment of contemporary university students, proposing such measures as strengthening the guidance of the core values, strengtheninggovernance of all media and political environment, highlighting the ultimate concern of country, government and the party, playing political influence of events and social groups.(3) Build a system of political socialization of universitystudents basedon doubleprocess circlesμ,proposing to foster sound rational political personμ as it goal and formmutual coupling systemof political institutionalization learning and political experiential learning, so as to enhance the"intermediary" effect of all media in the process of mutual dual structure, and protect the orderlyand effective advance of political socialization of university students.
