Along with the born and extensive use of Internet, the form of culture is also changing accordingly. The Internet becomes a new carrier and a part of culture. As a result, cyberculture thrives and becomes a new form of culture. College students play a dominating role --- they create, live in and spread the cyber culture, which, in another way around, also impose strong impacts on their values. The prosperity of cyberculture provides both new research topics and challenges. Also, as a culture environment, cyberculture brings about new research field for ideological and political education.The main focuses of this dissertation are as follow.First, this dissertation sorts out all the relative theories of culture environment as the research foundation, especially those raised by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels. Karl Marx and Frederick Engels hold the view that culture comes from material and it is essential for human development. Besides, culture is an impeding power of history. Marx and Engels criticize capitalism culture and believe that culture reflect ideology and class. By illustrates the environment theories that Marx and Engels bring about, this dissertation states that the material natural environment is the preposition of human existing and developing; and human activities shape social environment. Certain natural and social environment influences human in many ways. This dissertation also systematically presents relative theories in for ideological and political education.Secondly, the dissertation analyzes the forms and functions of cyberculture. Major forms of cyberculture are consuming, online video, Internet literature, online games, online political participation, etc. All of these differentiate cyberculture from traditional forms of culture, for it features virtual reality, multi subjectivity, poor controllability and easy accessibility. For ideological and political education, cyberculture has the function of information dissemination, communication, education and guidance, entertainment and consumption, public opinion publishing and tracking, etc.Then, this dissertation focuses on the duality of cyberculture influence on college students’ideological and political education. On the one hand, the network culture has enriched the content of ideological and political education, expanded the ways and means of it, enhanced the relevance of it and guided the transformation of discourse of ideological and political education; on the other hand, cyberculture also affect the formation of college students values by its entertainment and vulgarization, which has influenced the spread of mainstream culture and ideology. To a certain extent, it also caused obsess towards network and some misconducts among college students.Lastly, this dissertation proposes countermeasures to improve the ideological and political education under cyberculture environment. First, we should continue to deepen and expand the content of ideological and political education by strengthening the rule of law education, mental health education, and excellent traditional culture and education to make it a leading role of socialist core values education; secondly, it’s to enrich ideological and political education methods through cyberculture platform and make full use of the network platform by means of social network; The third is to strengthen the team building of ideological and political education. We should improve awareness and ability of using the Internet. It is essential that we recognize the importance of the Internet and understand the develop trend in order to carry out ideological and political education; Fourth is to advise that government departments should strengthen supervision of the cyberculture market, so as to promote the healthy development of cyberculture.All in all, from the perspective of cybercultural, this dissertation explores the innovation and development of ideological and political education in a new cultural environment. In the face of challenges of the new cultural environment, only those who seize the opportunity, have the courage to challenge themselves and break the shackles of traditional framework, and constantly explore new law of ideological and political education of new methods and paths, can be able to unleash the educational function in a constantly changing social environment.
