Objectives:The study aims at making a comprehensive test analysis for the 5-to 18-year-old adolescents’body shape, body composition, arch form and bone age. From these analysis, the study tries to find out the varying pattern of the body shape, as well as the influence of the growth level on the body shape. The study also tries to set up regular form indexes to predict the growth level, providing a simple method for the adolescent growth level prediction, providing a theory basis for their scientific fitness and promoting their healthy growth.Methods:This study chose the 5-to 18-year-old adolescents in Chongqing province as the research subjects. There are 1587 individuals in total, including 866 males and 721 females. Through the body form test, the study analyzed the body indexes on length, width, thickness and girth. Through the body composition test, the study analyzed the muscle and body fat percentage. By gait test and analysis, the study evaluated the arch form types. By bone age test, the study evaluated the growth level. The rules of the body shape change and the influence of growth on the body shape is achieved by single-factor analysis of variance. The formula for judging the type of growth is proved by Bayesian Discriminant Analysis.Results:1. Among the body form indexes, the length index change rule for 5-to 13-year-old males and females remains the same, and this index increases faster for 10-to 13-year-old. Females stop growth after the age of 13, while males basically grow until the age of 15. The width, thickness and girth indexes variation trend for both males and females are basically the same, with slower growth for 5-to 12-year-old and faster growth for 12-to 15-year-old. From age 5 to age 18, the incidence for flat foot for males goes down from 28.05%to 10.35%, while for female this rate is from 27.3 to 10.2%.2. The indexes of height, weight, BMI, chest breadth, waist width, hip breadth, chest measurement, waistline, hipline have no significant difference at the age of 13-15 and 16-18. In the other ages, the difference is significant.3. The upper limb length, upper arm length, forearm length, shank length, chest breadth, chestline, hip thickness, hipline is greatly varied in different growth levels.4. To establish a formula to indicate the level of growth development by using the regular index of body shape, by using back to generation and interaction validation method, the judgment can be proved. The accuracy of evaluation for female at 11-12 is 75.0% for premature,85.4% for normal and late for 78.1%. While for male, this rate should be 75.0%,74.3% and 84.1%. For the age at 13-15, the accuracy evaluation for female is 55.6% for premature,56.6% for normal and 71.4% for late mature. While for male, this rate should be 65.6%,54.9%,76.2%.Conclusion:1. The sudden increase period for the female adolescent length index is 10-to 13-year-old, while that for male is 10-to 15-year-old. The sudden increase period for width, thickness and girth is 12-to 15-year-old. The incidence of flat foot decreases as the age increases. 2. The indexes of height, weight, BMI, chest breadth, waist width, hip breadth, chest measurement, waistline, hipline can also be used as the sensitive indicators for the evaluation of adolescent body shape.3. The indexes of upper limb length, upper arm length, forearm length, shank length, chest breadth, chestline, hip thickness, hipline are the sensitive indicators for judging the growth level.4. The formula for evaluating the growth level for the age group at 11-12 and 13-15 can be used as in the evaluation of the adolescent growth level.
