In the present study,we conducted three experiments to dicuss the application feasibility of the polymorphysims of VEGF and its receptorsgenes in sports science by adopting PCR-RFLP and STR-PCR with fluorescence labeling.PartⅠ:The feasibility of VEGF and its receptors genes polymorphisms as genetic markers of selecting elite long-distance runnersThe aim of this study was to search the genetic markers of selecting elite long-distance runners by analyzing the distribution characteristic of VEGF and its receptors gene polymorphisms between 122 elite long-distance runners and 122 controls. The results showed that the frequencies of GG genotype of SNP/C+405G in VEGF gene were significantly higher than those in control group. So, the GG genotype of SNP/C+405G in VEGF gene can be used as a genetic marker of selecting elite long-distance runners.PartⅡ:The feasibility of VEGF and its receptors gene polymorphisms as genetic markers of predicting the response to long-distance runningThe aim of this study was to search the genetic markers of predicting the response to long-distance running by analyzing the association between these gene polymorphisms and phenotype parameters response to 18-w long-distance running in 102 males from Northern China(Han origin). The results showed that there were significant changes in the parameters of left ventricular structure and/or function after long-distance running in subjects with CA genotype of SNP/C-2578A,CT genotype of SNP/C936T in VEGF gene and the(AC)11/(AC)12 genotype in VEGFR2 gene.We concluded that the polymorphysims above could be used as genetic markers of the response to left ventricular structure and/or function to long-distance runningPartⅢ:The feasibility of VEGF and its receptors gene polymorphisms as genetic markers of predicting the response to hypoxia trainingThe aim of this study was to search genetic markers of the response to hypoxia training by analyzing the association between the gene polymorphisms and phenotype parameters response to 4-w hypoxia training in 71 males from Northern China(Han origin). The results showed that rV02max in the subjects with(AC)11/(AC)11 genotype of +4422(AC)n in VEGFR2 gene increased significantly after hypoxia training.The(AC)11/(AC)11 genotype was the genetic marker of the response to rV02max to hypoxia training. The decrease of SpO2 reduced significantly after hypoxia training in subjects with AA genotype of SNP/A+18487T in VEGFR2 gene. The polymorphysim could be used as genetic marker of the response of Sp02 to hypoxia training. The LVM increased significantly after hypoxia training in subjects with CC genotype of SNP/C936T in VEGF gene. Therefore this polymorphysim could be used as the marker of the response of left ventricular structure to hypoxia training. The parameters of left ventricular function after hypoxia training changed significantly in subjects with CC genotype of SNP/C936T in VEGF gene, the AG genotype of SNP/A+193019G in VEGFR1 gene. The polymorphysims above could be used as genetic markers for the response of left ventricular function to hypoxia training.
