By a large number of literature research, Expert advice and integrating the features of fitness walking or running, the research select, compile the indicator system framework for walking or running energy expenditure assessment model. By recruiting, we found 110 (50 men,60 women) volunteers who were Australian white middle-aged people.82 (37 men,45 women) people of them ran on treadmill in four different speeds of fitness walking or running and finished the gas metabolism and basic parameters such as gait test. By principal components analysis, we select, establish a middle-aged fitness walking or running assessment model of energy expenditure indicator system. By multiple stepwise regression, we establish the middle-aged people fitness walking or running energy expenditure formula. The internal validity and accuracy are tested by the same volunteers’preferred walking or running gait and gas metabolism. The external validity and accuracy of formula are tested by another 28 people preferred walking or running gait and gas metabolism. The conclusions as the following:1. We do some research on the existing evaluation model of fitness walking or running energy consumption and evaluation methods. We found that testing methods is relatively accurate, but complicated to operate, mainly used in scientific research, while the estimation method to obtain a simple index, but the accuracy is low, multi-used as a guide the general public fitness. Also found that the main basis for estimating indicators of selected literature method, relatively homogeneous, and no systematic evaluation of the model building process.2. Comprehensive comparison study with a representative of a certain fitness walking or running energy expenditure assessment formula, results show that a single factor as more independent variables assessment formula, in which only speed as independent variables generally low accuracy, while the integrated speed and weight, heart rate and other body parameters increased the accuracy; The parameters of heart rate in combination with other variables in the energy expenditure of the formula generally higher accuracy. In order to establish a middle-aged fitness walking or running scientific assessment model of energy expenditure, we should comprehensively consider body shape, functional status, exercise intensity, and the subjective feeling of stress response factors when body moving.3. By principal components analysis, we obtain the middle-aged fitness walking or running energy expenditure assessment model including two factors, four testing indicators. Two factors are body shape factor and walking or running intensity and causing body response. four testing indicators are BMI, fitness walking or running speed (or stride frequency), heart rate and RPE.4. By multiple stepwise regression, a middle-aged people fitness walking or running energy expenditure estimation formula was established.Middle-aged women:EE(kcal/min)=-4.707+2.438*S(m/s)+0.104*BMI(kg/m2)+0.020*HR(beats/min )+0.124*RPEEE(kcal/min)=-6.599+0.040*f(steps/min)+0.082*BMI(kg/m2)+0.028*HR(bea ts/min)+0.141*RPEMiddle-aged men:EE(kcal/min)=-9.54+3.381*S(m/s)+0.217*BMI(kg/m2)+0.007*HR(beats/min) +0.526*RPEEE(kcal/min)=-7.560+0.035*f(steps/min)+0.096*BMI(kg/m2)+0.056*HR(bea ts/min)+0.131*RPEThrough internal and external validity and accuracy of testing proved that the estimation formula for the four all have validity, can be the middle-aged fitness walking or running energy expenditure assessment of the practice of popularization and application.
