Research On Glass Industry Development Mode Based On Circular Economy

For decades, ruling under the traditional economic development mode, natural resources have been predatorily exploited and utilized by human beings. Because it exceeded what the ecological environments can bear, in return, the human beings’ own life and the sustainable economy development have been greatly impacted. Furthermore, it is forecasted that more and more deteriorative results would bring up in the future if we kept the current economic growth pattern. In this context, this study proposed a new development mode for glass industry, based on the circular economy’s principles which emphasis on the harmonious ecological development of nature, economy and environment. In this work, three different levels of glass industry circular economy development modes were constructed. We also practiced this theory on a real case, Shahe glass industrial park in Hebei province, to evaluate the impact of circular economy development mode on the glass industry. Later on, the strategies and recommendations for Chinese glass industry circular economy development were put forward in this study.There are eight chapters in this paper. In the first chapter, chief introduction was listed; in the second chapter, four closely related theories on the circular economy were discussed in detail, which was the theoretical foundation for the whole research; the third chapter, taking Chinese glass industry as an example, on the basis of industry economy theories, analyzed the current status of the industry development, main products structure and current problems, so as to provide practical grounds for the design of glass industrial circular economic development mode; in the fourth chapter, according to the epistemological basis on the circular economy development mode, three different levels of glass industry circular economy development mode were designed and their internal relationship was discussed; in the fifth chapter, evaluation index system of glass industry circular economy development mode was established and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) combined with entropy technical corrections was adopted to determine each index weight; in the sixth chapter, taking Shahe glass industry as an example, its circular economy development mode was evaluated and circular economy status in the next few years was predicted; in the seventh chapter, specific solutions and implementation countermeasure for glass industry circular economy development were proposed from different aspects, as a reference to the government for decision-making; in the last chapter, main conclusions were made. In the study, the theories of economics, ecology, sustainable development, industrial ecology and related research methods about systematic analysis, empirical analysis, case studies and contrast studies were synthetically applied to have a further insight into the glass industry circular economic development mode, which was of great significance for strengthening the relation of different industries, promoting the regional development, improving the competitive power of enterprise, guiding the direction of industry development. The main innovative work of this study was summarized in the following aspects:(1) Guided by the theory of the circular economy, glass industry development mode was investigated, which played an oriented role in the mode transformation of glass industry manufacturing;(2) Based on this idea, three different levels of glass industry circular economy development mode were established, including enterprise level, eco-industrial park level and social level, respectively;(3) Evaluation index system of glass industry circular economy development mode was established and AHP combined with entropy technical corrections was adopted to determine each index weight, which was then applied for the case study of Shahe glass industrial park. Then, glass industry circular economy development mode in Shahe was designed and implementation countermeasures for Chinese glass industry circular economy development were put forward.
