Recently, scholars in entrepreneurial studies start to focus on the entrepreneurialresearches of founders’ personality traits, entrepreneurial opportunity recognition,entrepreneurial strategy, entrepreneurial performance, entrepreneurial orientation, andhow start-up ventures contribute to economic development. Particular attention has beenpaid on the researches of entrepreneurial opportunity recognition and entrepreneurialprocess. Many empirical researches mainly focus on how to identify, develop andexploit entrepreneurial opportunities, and then analyze and discuss how to convertentrepreneurial opportunities into business performance. To date, although thegovernment has constantly increased the support for entrepreneurship, theentrepreneurship is still facing serious challenges and huge risk of failing in the currentsituation. A new venture maybe a commercial failure, but succeed in helpingentrepreneurs gain intangible resources and prepare better for another entrepreneurship,Therefore, in this study, we not only examine the unique opportunity recognition abilityof entrepreneurial leaders, but also discuss how the consequence of entrepreneurialopportunities influence entrepreneurs’ intangible resources.Currently, team entrepreneurship has become one of the important ways fororganizations to adapt to increasingly complex and quickly changing externalenvironments. Actually, team entrepreneurship studies have already replace individualentrepreneurship and become the mainstream of organizational management studies. Inthe studies of entrepreneurial team, the top management team has been paid lots ofattention. However, researches on top management entrepreneurial team unilaterallyfocus on how the t members’ personality traits influence top management team and theorganization. Therefore, we know relatively little about how the relationship amongteam members influence entrepreneurial team’s behaviors and organization’sperformance.Thus, it will provide valuable insight for team entrepreneurship studies ifwe systematically examine how the structure of top management entrepreneurial teaminfluence the organization’s efficiency. This paper intends to explore the influence of the relationship among top management entrepreneurial team members onorganizational performance, and open the “black-box” of how top managemententrepreneurial team influence entrepreneurial performance. To answer these questions,we use Chinese entrepreneurial firm’s survey data and respectively test the influence ofthe “quality” and “structure” of top entrepreneurial team on the entrepreneurial teamopportunity recognition and the leadership of top management entrepreneurial team.This study first analysis the characteristics of external financing environment ofstate-owned enterprise using empirical research method with the aid of related statisticalanalysis,then analyses the mechanism of entrepreneurial team recognition opportunityand entrepreneurial team operation process. The results show that financing constraintproblems really exist in local state-owned enterprise. The results show that the strengthand dimensions of entrepreneurial team social network have significantly positivecorrelation with entrepreneurial opportunity identification. We also find that paternalismleadership behaviors of entrepreneurial team has an significant correlation with teamperformance, which is “moral”and “benevolence”dimension of leadership havesignificantly positive correlations with team performance, and “authoritarianism”dimension has an significantly negative relationship with team performance. This studyalso shows that team communication has a positive mediate effect between thepaternalistic leadership of top management entrepreneurial team and team performance.Applying actual entrepreneurial team cases, we also analyze and explain the theoryabout opportunity identification of entrepreneurial team and the influencing mechanismof paternalistic leadership behaviors of entrepreneurial team on team performance. Inthe end, we indicate some limitations in this paper and point out some directions forfuture studies.
