Based On The Theory Of Complexity, Tourist Destination Core Competitiveness Research

With the global economic integration and the progress of modern science and technology, the development environment of tourist destinations in our country is getting much more complex and facing fierce competition. The limitation exposes gradually when traditional research method meets the integrity and complexity of tourist destination system. This article will attempt to do research on the core competence of the tourist destination from a new perspective.In this article, the tourist destination is taking as a complex system. The theory of complexity has been tried to build as a foundation of tourist destination core competence theory research. The study for the inner and evolution mechanism of the core competence of the tourist destination is taking the organic and system intelligent point of view, combined with the destination system and core competence theory for the construction of the system. The reductionism and holism method was applied too during the study. According to the complexity theory, the tourism system theory and the core competence theory, we propose that the core competence of tourist destination is the function of self-organizing, self-adaption and self-subsistence which gets from the dynamic relationship between the environment and complex system of destination during its evolution. The formation of the core competence of destination is the result of its structure and system intelligent optimization, which sustains the competitive advantage of the destination system.Theoretical and empirical analysis of the anthology is taken as a whole in this article. On the basis of the analysis of the complex characteristics inside the destination system and the development status of tourist destination in Yunnan, using the method of computer simulation of systems analysis, the research model of the adaptability and foresee ability of the core competence of destination is constructed to do the empirical analysis. In this chapter, we comb the related research progress of this topic, present the meaning of this article, and introduce the method of this research.Chapter2, the origin, evolution and study method of the Complexity theory is elaborated and the research is made on the complexity of the tourist destination.Chapter3, theoretical analysis. In this part, we will analyze the complexity of the destination base on the complexity theory and define the character of the core competence of destination. We also indicate that tourist destination can maintain its competitive advantage by interactions between the essential factors which will evolute to make the destination system obtain the function of self-organizing, self-adaption and self-subsistence. The comparative analysis between the destination core competence and the concepts such as destination related competence and destination innovation will also be made in this chapter.Chapter4, the analysis of the formation condition of the core competence of destination, subjects take part in it and the relationship between these subjects is made here. We also elaborate the construction path, the power source and cultivation mechanism of destination. The analytical method, including genetic algorithm and artificial neural network is proposed to construct the model of research on the adaptability and foresee ability.Chapter5, empirical research. We review and analysis the development condition of tourism in Yunnan, while the comparative study of it between Yunnan and the whole country is stated here. We also evaluate the result of empirical analysis of the destination core competence with the model of adaptability and foresee ability.Chapter6, conclusions. The main and innovation point of the research is presented in this part, while the prospect is also made.Main innovation points and research conclusion:The intelligent of the organic system in this article is the new concept of studying the core competence of the tourist destination that gradually formed accompanied by the process of system construct optimization which includes the smart form, the intelligent optimization, the maximize benefits of the organization and the realization of the overall efficiency of the society, the economy and the environment.In this sense, the core competence of destination is the system intelligent. This system intelligent is a ability of information gathering, knowledge generation, self remolding more than just self-organizing, self-adaption and self-subsistence. This system intelligent is irreplaceable and staying ahead during competition. That is, intelligent advantage of the destination determine its competitive advantage.Theoretical and empirical analysis of the anthology is taken as a whole in this article. On the basis of the analysis of the complex characteristics inside the destination system and the development status of tourist destination in Yunnan, using a combination of methods of statistical analysis and computer simulation of systems analysis, the tourist destinations core competitiveness simulation system developed from the macro level. At the same time, we propose the evaluation standard of the core competence of destination such as adaptability and foresee ability by doing empirical analysis of it.The empirical analysis result of simulation model developed from artificial neural network shows that, the tourist destination in Yunnan gets good stability, while the foresee ability is a little bit weak compared with Guizhou, Guangxi and other tourist destination which have the similar economic development environment. The result from genetic algorithm also indicates that, the adaptability of destination in Yunnan will get better after the competition mechanism is introduced.In all, the results of the analysis support and verify the theory construction.
