Guizhou Mineral Resources Industrial Clusters And Regional Economic Growth

In the developing progress of today’s world economy, the industry clusters has become a focus of attention as an industrial organization which implement the development of regional economy. Industrial clusters theory ignores the differences between different industries, and concerns about the mutual contact and interaction between enterprises and industries. It is a new regional economic development theory. Industry clusters can create competitive advantages, promote the upgrading of the industrial structure, improve transaction efficiency, reduce transaction costs, get access to external economy and promote technological innovation, so as to impel the development of the regional economy. Mineral resources industry is a pillar industry in Guizhou. Based on the advantages in mineral resources, developing the mineral resources industrial clusters in order to promote regional economy growth in Guizhou, this research has important theoretical and practical consequences to bring about a coordinated development of regional economies.In this dissertation, various means are used to explain about development of mineral resources industrial clusters and Guizhou regional economy. The concepts, classifications and the development of theory are analyzed based on an extensive number of publications. After evaluated the related theories, we emphasized the importance of the industrial clusters theory in promoting regional economic development. The dissertation analyzed the advantages and risks of developing industrial clusters, then analyzed the risks of developing mineral resources industrial clusters and put forward some precautions. We analyzed the advantages of the mineral resources industry in Guizhou from the respect of economic efficiency, market demand, employment and production related association, by using the selection method of competitive industries. According to the impetus mechanism for the development of industrial clusters, the dissertation studied six positive factors to industrial clusters development in Guizhou. Based on the factor analysis and model of industrial cluster and regional economic growth, Quantitative Methods was used to carry on an empirical research on the relationship between industrial clusters and regional economic growth. The dissertation introduced the Physics Coupling concept into the study and analyzed the coupling relation between the growth of mineral resources industrial cluster and regional economy. At last, by studying the present condition and existing problems of Guizhou mineral resource industry, using the outcome of above research and analyzing the favorable circumstances of developing industrial clusters, the dissertation put forward the patterns and suggestions of developing mineral resources industrial clusters in Guizhou.
