Ships’routeing is not only an advanced concept of maritime management, but also acting as an effective solution for congested traffic of waterway. It represents the development direction of ship navigation order management, and acts as an important research topic in the field of modern traffic. This paper expounds the necessity of ships’routeing, then take the Chengshan Jiao ships’routeing as an example for the attempt of choosing best plan from several alternatives. In the end, the optimized assessment methods of ships’routeing are studied. In order to evaluate optimal scheme of ships’routeing, this paper analyses various factors affecting the design of ships’routeing system by combining with the regulations of IMO’s "General Provisions on Ships’routeing" and the fifth chapter of the SOLAS convention which regulate the ship’s routeing system. It exams the effects of various factors acting on the ships’routeing from the angle of geographical environment, navigation environment and human factors, thus put forward evaluation index system of the ships’routeing, it evaluate ships’routeing plans by using analytic hierarchical process, extenics theory and fuzzy neural network to choose best design. At last, it analyzes the results of evaluation methods based on the gray theory. It shows that both the hierarchical analysis method and the theory of extension method can be used as an optimized way of choosing best routeing design from several alternatives. This paper provides optimized method for ships’ routeing based on a comprehensive analysis of the factors which influence ships’routeing; it fills the blank in this aspect to some extent. The assessment methods of this paper evaluate the ships’ routeing schemes not only in qualitative way but also in quantitative way, which provides an effective way for maritime traffic management. The result of this dissertation has a guiding role in maritime field.
