| Facing with the challenges of industrialization and the coming of information era,Subject qualities of social modernization are becoming more and more prominent.Problems concerning on Subject qualities has become an important focus of attentionin the research fields such as social development practice and social modernizationtheories. Domestic and foreign scholars have carried out systematical research on itfrom different view and positions. As a result, diverse and abundant results have beenachieved, being accompanied by their shortcomings.On the level of social philosophy, the integrity’ research and analysis are made onsubject qualities’ problems of in the process of social modernization in my thesis. Atthe beginning, the paper described the concepts of Subject, the connotation of subjectqualities, and the significance of subject qualities to social development. Then, thepaper is not written only on the basis of Logic like subject qualities shall be in theprocess of social modernization and ought to be in the practice, but also subjectqualities are analyzed in different aspects: economy, politics and culture. The aboveanalysis finally leads to the conclusion that what is the feasible way for theenhancement of subject qualities. At the end, suggestion and countermeasures areproposed by utilizing the general analysis and theory achievements of subject qualities’problems in the process of social modernization, meanwhile consulting our country’sactual problems of social modernization.This dissertation is composed of three parts: introduction, context and summary.Among them, the context can be divided into five chapters according to the content.The introduction points that subject qualities’ problems are the prerequisite for thesocial developing practice. This is also the main content of the social modernizationresearch. The results as well as shortcoming of the domestic and foreign scholars onsubject qualities are briefly introduced. And then it expounds this article’s researchaims, methods and train of thoughts.The first chapter deals with the definition of Subject, the content and structure ofsubject qualities and the significance of subject qualities to social modernization. Wefirst define the philosophical meaning of Subject (Human), illustrating that Subject issome person living in a certain society, engaging in the practice and awarenessactivities. Human is the unity of groups and individuals, which is the counterpart ofsocial subject. On the basis of the above analysis, subject qualities are divided intothree aspects: ideological and moral qualities, knowledge and ability qualities,physiological and psychological qualities. And the end of this chapter, the means andpurpose of subject qualities to social modernization are illustrated. The second chapter discusses stage and basic content of social modernization, andthe special requirements are raised and the conditions are supplied for subject qualitiesby social modernization. Social modernization is some kind of research from theperspective of technical social patterns and overall field height. The current stage isunder the transition from traditional society (agricultural society) to modern society(industrial society and information society), whose basic contents are defined aseconomic modernization, political modernization and cultural modernization. On thebasis of the above consideration, we propose the basic requirements to subject qualitiesduring social modernization from the aspects of economy, politics and culture. Theserequirements includes: the manipulation of modern tools of a higher technical level andmanagement ability to adapt with the market-oriented, modern ideas and marketactivity, political qualities compatible with the democracy, moral qualities compatiblewith the modern communication, proper ideal pursuit of the spirit and the specialrequirements of the physical and psychological qualities of fast-frequency andhigh-intensity working life. At the end of this chapter, the economic, political culturaland other external conditions for the elevation of subject qualities are discussed.In chapter3, low level and uneven development of subject qualities (that isHistorical gap) during the social modernization are analyzed. The transformation fromtraditional (agricultural society) to modern (industrial and informational society)society will inevitably leads to Historical gap of subject qualities. The discrepanciesbetween small farmer consciousness and market awareness, the special privilegementality and democratic consciousness, traditional morality and modern morality arethe main expression of the gap in ideological and moral qualities. The gap on theknowledge and ability mainly register as the mismatch between technical expertise andthe development of modern productive forces, between economic knowledge orbehavior and modern development of commodity economy, between democraticconsciousness or abilities and the development of democracy, between the scientificknowledge level and the science and technology’ development of modern society.Chapter4mainly concerns on the elevation of subject qualities. For the elevationof subject qualities, the education and training are essential way. By family education,school education and social education, one can acquire certain laboring skills and be askilled laborer. To further improve subject qualities, laboring practices are usuallyrequired. To enhance subject qualities, generally, three methods can be employed. First,by means of material production practices, self-production practice and spiritproduction practices, the material and mental production ability as well as thecreativity of Human can be greatly enhanced. Second, extensive contacts with thepaper media, electronic media, Internet and other mass media will also be helpful to theelevation of subject qualities. Third, the cultivation of good social environment,including the resource and institutional environment will greatly facilitate the elevation of subject qualities.Chapter5mainly concerns on the existing problem of subject qualities andmethods to elevate subject qualities at current stage in China. The social modernizationin China is carried out in guidance of socialism, which is different to its counterparts.At this stage, subject qualities can promote the development of Chinese socialmodernization. However, it also prevents the further improvement of the socialmodernization in the aspects of economy, politics and culture, which results from theunbalanced and low-quality development of subject qualities. To overcome those twokinds of drawbacks, we must establish a correct understanding according to the currentsituation. Meanwhile, effective methods on the elevation of subject qualities are alsorequired. |
