Research On Cultivation Of National Defense Students’ Loyalty Quality

Loyalty is not only a basic moral character, but also the most valuable qualityof soldiers. The special group of national defense students is both local collegestudents and future army oiffcers. As the main force of science and technology inthe army, national defense students embody the future and hope of the army.Currently, the struggle in ideological ifeld is increasingly iferce and complicatedand various ideology and cultures are amassing, which have a great impact onnational defense st“udents. Contemporary soldier’s core values put loyalty to thePart"y in the ifrst place, which shows the ideological and political development ofnational defense st’udents clear direction. It is a new topic to cultivate nationaldefense students’ loyalty in our country. There are still many problems in the wayof cultivation. The study of cultivating national defense students’ loyalty is relatedto the global development of the army and has important theoretical and practicalsignificance.This paper systematically summarizes the production, development, historicalevolution, and changes of the ancient Chinese philosophy of loyalty; clarifies themeaning of modern loyalty spirit and the value in modern society; studies theloyalty concept’s development in the Western society; explores the evolution anddevelopment of Marxist view of loyalty; introduces the success of Western society,Japan and other countries in fostering the loyalty spirit that can be learned. Fromstudying college students’ political quality structure, we construct the frame ofnational defense students’ loyalty and point out the extent and deifne thesignificance of national defense students’ loyalty. This paper also studies andanalyzes the formation process and characteristics of loyalty, putting forwardrelated theories of national defense students’ loyalty, and regarding the core valuesystem of socialism and contemporary soldiers’ core value as the theoreticalsource. It studies the relationships and interactions between contemporary soldiers’ core values and socialist core value system, pointing out that thecultivation of students’ loyalty should be under the guidance of the party,including talent theory, enlightenment theory and thought identity theory. Itfocuses on the army building experience and excellent tradition, researches intohow to cultivate reserved army oiffcer’s loyalty from various views; clarifies newrequirements of cultivating national defense students’ loyalty; through the deepresearch of the status quo of national defense students’ loyalty, analyses theproblems of contemporary national defense st’udents loyalty and the main factorsinfluencing the cultivation of loyalty, and then introduces the cultivating ways thathave already existed. Finally, from the aspects of fostering principles, contents,methods, environment and mechanism, etc, we put forward some effectivemethods and realizing ways to cultivate national defense students’ loyalty againstthe current background of signing prospective contracts before graduation. Thispaper will provide a theoretical guidance to strengthen military personnelconstruction in this knowledge age and promote the cultivation of national defensestudents who have already signed prospective contracts.
