Mate selection is a life event the young must face. In the current social transformation period, mate selection mode has been changing from traditional type to modern type. Hundreds of millions of young migrant workers, because of their work and particularity in the process of mate selection mode, have been focused on particularly by academia. Compared to the old generation of migrant workers, the young migrant workers in the marriage age, with high quality of education or technique have a strong desire to stay in the city. Therefore, the love-marriage problems, the adaption to the city, merging into the city together, which are linked together. The specific mode of their mate selection is a reflection of the city’s idea, behavior mode and development status. The result will affect their future into the city. Therefore, research on young migrant workers to produce great realistic significance and practical significance for the solutions to their mate selection problems and the promotion of urbanization process.Considering the social capital is an important capital for young migrant workers, this paper, from microcosmic level of social capital, studies young migrant workers" mate selection model. They survive in the city and the social capital play a decisive role for their foothold and development in the city. For the migrant workers lacking of physical capital and human capital, the difference of social capital matters much. More still, being a conceptual tools and analytical paradigm, the social capital provides an ideal perspective for explaining the long-term mate selection problems highly concerned by families.Through the literature search, it is found that from the perspective of social capital the research of mating selection modes is very small at present. But the existing reasearch on social capital and mate selection model has provided a solid theoretical foundation and effective method for this problem. Therefore, the relations between social capital and mate selection modes can be studied from theory, and their social capital’s influence on mate selection modes from micro level can be explored. Based on empirical investigation data of youth migrant workers’ social capital and the mating patterns in Chengdu city, the influence is validated, and come to the conclusion of social capital’s effects on mating selection mode. From micro level, social capital refers to the available resources a person made from network of social relations through familiar people. On the basis of social capital theory, according to different sources and functions of social capital, social capital in the field of micro can be divided into three types ascribed, self-actualized bonding social capital and self-actualized bridging social capital. The three characteristics and the role of social capital have big difference, especially ascribed type and self-actualized bonding type. As for self-actualized bridging social capital mainly play the role of the exchange of information, and the homogeneity of ascribed social capital is very strong, while the heterogeneity of social capital is relatively strong, these features and functions can have different effects on mate selection mode. Mating selection modes is a system consisting of five aspects:the ways of mate selection and the purpose of mate selection, the scope of mate selection, the standards of mate selection and the degree of difficulty of mate selection. Each aspect has different factors of influence.Mate selection mode is affected by physical capital and human capital. Therefore, we must fully understand the physical capital and human capital effects on mate selection model. What’s more, it is necessary to explore the relationship between three different types of social capital and mate selection patterns theoretically. Construct a theoretical model of physical capital, human capital and the relationship between social capital and three kinds of social capital, some research suggests effects of physical capital, human capital and three types of social capital on the mate selection model. An empirical survey data:the questionnaire survey (a total of543samples) of the migrant workers of4urban areas (Qingyang District, Pixian, Wenjiang and Shuangliu County) relatively concentrated in Chengdu City, which were young migrant workers born after1980, whose gender, age distribution, occupation, education level, technical titles and income level are reasonable relatively.According to the descriptive analysis of the survey data by the use of statistical software SPSS16.0found:firstly, for Social capital, young migrant workers’ self-actualized bridging social capital accounted for the highest part. Secondly, the proportion of ascribed social capital, self-actualized bonding social capital, reflecting the young migrant workers in cities haven’t entirely depend on the situation of ascribed social capital but by self-actualized social capital. Because of the big gap between the bonding type social capital and bridging social capital, and for bridging social capital is less helpful than the bond bridge social capital. Therefore, although the young migrant workers has built much social capital, which providing substantial help relatively is small, still has a strong dependence on ascribed social capital.Mate-selection models, young migrant workers mating mode generally presents the modern characteristics, namely the mating way is given priority to acquaintance by themselves, their mating purpose to affective purpose, mating scope to their work place that covers an area of. and mating standard attaches importance to personality and compatibility. Of course, young migrant workers’mate selections have have different characteristics. Besides the mating ways, mating purpose or mating standards, many other choices account for much. For mating difficulty they encounter, more than half of the people feel "general", a third of people feel easy, and a few people feel difficult. Reason of difficulty is mainly from two aspects of economic pressure and job instability. In the analysis of young rural migrant workers’social capital’s influence on mating mode analysis, using multiple linear regression method, analytical framework and research hypothesis the proposed are validated. From study result:physical capitals of migrant workers have significant effects only on mating area:the lower the annual income, they more inclined to find a spouse in the home town, but no significant effects on other aspects. Human capital levels will significantly affect the young migrant workers’ purpose, scope and degree of mate selection. The lower the rmman capital level, the more utilitarian purpose of mating, more like to choose a spouse from fellow; The higher the level of human resources, the easier they find a mate.Ascribed social capital’s main effects on mate selection mode:the more ascribed social one own, the more people who would like to introduce mate for him or her, but they hold a lower degreement on the way of others’ indtroduction; on the mating purposes, they tend to less traditional marriage purpose, finding a spouse from the same hometown. The more abundant Ascribed social capital, the higher standards, but the more difficulty the young migrant workers when face to mate selection. The self-actualized bonding social capital main effect on mate selection mode: people with more spontaneous link social capital rich people will be agree more with mating ways through the introduction of others. Their mating purpose has strong traditional focus; in mate selection range, finding a mate in the same place including city people, and the city people is superior; in mate selection criteria, they have a low expectation of economic and social conditions on the other side. The spontaneous link social capital can obviously reduce the difficulty of mate selection. The self-actualized bridging social capital, the purpose of traditional mate selection is weak; In the scope of mate selection, tend to choose the opposite sex including the city people in terms of seeking spouses, but producing little impact on urban citizens; they didn’t pay much attention to the appearance or physiological condition. In general, compared to physical capital and human capital, social capital produce a great impact on young migrant workers’ mate selection. It also shows that social capital can make a convincing explanation of young migrant workers’mate selection, it also suggests that social capital is regarded as a good point of view on the study of mate selection mode. This paper mainly focuses on the study of the groups of young migrant workers instead of the social capital’s influence on mate selection mode. Therefore, in the later study, so in the later study, the study can focus on the influence on mating model from the young peasant workers, young white-collar workers and university students’ social capitals, and compared with the conclusion of young migrant workers. The social capital is highlighted among physical capital, human capital and social capital. In addition, the multivariate regression analysis method adopted to test assumptions is able to prove assumption, but can’t put all the variables into a model. Therefore, the structural equation model can be used to conduct a in-depth research, concluded a model of personal or individual social capital’s influence on mating pattern.
