Consumption is not only the economic problems but also the social and humanproblems regarded by Marx. Hence the studies should be given not only in the economicfield but also in social field through judgment and construction to set up the consumptiontheory to be basic for Marist consumption theory which contains the theory socialre-production, capitalism consumption and future social consumption. The basiccharacteristics of harmonious consumption that consumption is to coordinate witheconomic, the society, the development of the people, and the natural, even to be keep thefair and justice.The essence of harmonious consumption is that consumption is to coordinate witheconomic, the society, the development of the people, and the natural, even to be keep thefair and justice. Basically, moderate consumption, green consumption, ecologicalconsumption, sustainable consumption, and low carbon consumption are dependent onharmonious consumption. Hence Marist consumption theory is the theatrical base ofChina harmonious consumption that is benefit for consumption practice.The harmonious consumption is the main engine of transformation of the pattern ofeconomic development, which is the effective measure to narrow the gap betweenconsumption, and the most important way to make up for a lack of social publicconsumption. And the harmonious consumption is the important way to safeguard andimprove people’s livelihood, inevitably choice of coping with the ecology crisis, theinevitable requirement of resisting consumerism, and optimize consumptioncircumstance. Meantime the harmonious consumption is the reflection of mismatchcultural phenomenon, reconstruction of the basis of consumption culture environment,perfecting the relevant legal system of consumer’s value target, and direct motivation ofthe establishment of harmonious consumption value system. Simply, harmoniousconsumption is indispensable to economic development, social development and culturaldevelopment. It is necessary that harmonious consumption is developed in China.Four aspects are discussed how to construct the harmonious consumption. First,the harmonious concept of consumption should be established. It is essential to strengthen consumer education and public opinion propaganda, transform the conceptof customers and even pay attention to the guidance of culture and the safeguard ofpolicies and legal to set up the harmonious concept of consumption. Second, way ofconsumption harmony is implemented. For this point some problems should be solvedthat is to improve the income distribution pattern, to perfect social insurance system andthe basic social security system and improve the level of farmers’ income and consumingability. Third, a harmonious consumption environment will be created. Improvingconsumption policies, improving the efficiency of consumption policy improving theconsumption related legal system to guarantee the long-term mechanism of consumptionis indispensable. Fourth, the construction of harmonious consumption culture should bepay key attention to. Four aspects of the consumption culture are pointed out. Under thebackground of cultural globalization of the world government plays important role inconstructing the cultural function is to promote consumer culture to build harmoniousconsumption culture, integrate advanced foreign consumer culture, and inherit theexcellent tradition of consumption culture. Also the government should strengthencultural construction and pay attention to the positive effect of Multi-culture.The conclusion is reached. Harmonious consumption is the unity of regularity andpurpose, of man and nature, and of social choice and individual choice. To build aharmonious consumption everyone in China should set up harmonious consumptionconcept and build up positive harmony consumption culture and harmoniousconsumption environment through harmonious behavior way of consumption to reallyrealize the harmony of people and economy society, human and ecological nature, humanand human.
