The Research On British Urbanization

The ultimate goal of UK urbanization research and analysis is to makesuggestions and guidance for China’s urbanization, the mistakes encountered in thatprocess, we can’t repeat, while for the solutions found, we can take them asreference.China is in the stage of rapid development of urbanization, in2010, the worldaverage urbanization rate will reach50.9%, while the rate for China will be44.9%,so a gap will occur. China have gone through a lot of detours on city construction,including the occurrence of urban social problems, environmental damage caused byover industrial development, occupation of a lot of fertile land, urban space discord,absurdity between living environment and human development, huge cost led bycities and urban recycling hollow and city re-construction, etc. These problems aremainly reflected in the process of highly developed industrialization.It is found that, China is in a new phase of development of industrial society:there are unprecedented urban construction boom and increasing number of cities.Also, urban scale is being expanded, city buildings are becoming taller and taller,city structure is being changed, especially it is clearly shown the construction ofmany cities is within the process of industrialization, the obvious thinking and actiontrend of the eager for quick success and instant benefit, is prevalently existed inurban construction and planning, that gives rise to the a lack of "culturalconnotation" in the overall planning and implementation of urban construction.Because of the lack of a "Cultural Connotation" and the "urban special imagepositioning", some misunderstandings happen in urban planning and construction. Itis very necessary to research on these issues for Chinese cities development, whichis in the stage of "urban society change", it is also beneficial for avoiding the failures in urban construction and scientific planning of China urbanization and urbanmodernization.
