An Empirical Study On The Comparative Advantage Of Guangxi Mining Industry And Its Law Of Variation

Guangxi is rich in mineral resources. Mining economy has made greatcontributions to the economic and social development of Guangxi and it is animportant pillar industry in Guangxi.But there still exist some urgent problems inGuangxi mining economy.Industrial development is limited due to lack of reserveresources. Resource advantages has not tranformed into industrial advantage.Technology dropps behind and the level of comprehensive utilization of mineralresources is low. Resource development layout is not reasonable and the scaleeconomic effect has not been formed. Based on “GuangxiTwelfth Five Year Plan”,fourteen100billion industris will be built and there are four industries directly relatedto the mining industry: petrochemical industry,non-ferrous metal industry,metallurgical industry,building material industry. In order to achieve this grandblueprint, the sustained and healthy development of Guangxi mining industry is theessential guarantee.This paper summarized the relevant basic theory, analyzed the Guangxi areageological background,mineral resources and mining industry development basicsituation; evaluated potential value and extract value of Guangxi mineralresources;studied the advantages and disadvantages of Guangxi mining changes andformed the following achievements:Firstly, by using the analytic hierarchy process, the evaluation index systemof mineral resources is constructed and14kinds of mainmineral resources in Guangxiare evaluated. Hierarchy analysis shows that: the mineral resources in Guangxiadvantages include bauxite, manganese ore, rare earth ore, antimony, tin and lead zincmine.Secondly,the potential value of mineral resources and extracting the valuecalculation model are constructed and93kinds of mineral resources in Guangxi havebeen calculated specifically. Guangxi mineral resources potential value and extractvalue calculation results show: the potential value and extract the maximum value of bauxite, followed by the coal resources.Thirdly, by the analysis of location quotient, the static analysis of the advantagesand disadvantages of resource industry is carried out from three aspects of resourcesreserves, mineral products, mining output yield. Aiming at the different time anddifferent industry chain,the dynamic analysis of the advantages and disadvantages ofmining industry has been done. The analysis results show that:2008-2012years,remarkable results of the development of Guangxi mining are achieved, industrieswith advantages(including the general advantages and unstable advantage) increasedfrom one to five, mining, smelting and processing link can be improved, there are twoadvantages among four select industries, there are three advantages among foursubsequent smelting industries.But lead,zinc,tin,antimony and other nonferrous metalsindustry in Guangxi also need to strengthen and their resouce dominant positions alsoneed to further consolidate.Fourthly,the healthy development of Guangxi mining industry recommendationsare followings: strengthen the exploration of mineral resources, increase the reservesof mineral resources; integrate development main body,enhance market concentrationdegree; strengthen the management of the machining processes, improve the addedvalue of resource;encourage mergers and reorganizations, build brand miningenterprises; strengthen the organization and leadership, establish harmonious andunified management platform.
