A Study Of Xie Yuanhuai's "Sui Jin Ci Yun"

Sui Jin Ci Yun is the product of the thriving study on Ci in Qing dynasty.lt has complex stylistic rules and enriched content.It's a rhyming dictionary of Ci with comprehensive knowledge of rhyme in the framework of Ci rhyme.As an important part of Xie Yuanhuai's series of Sui Jin works,Sui Jin Ci Yun has mixed up with Xie Yuanhuai's academic ideas on Ci.Take this as the center to carry out research, not only has the important theory significance, but also has a certain practical value.But the academic study of this book is still relatively weak, so there is a big research space.Based on previous research results,this paper takes Sui Jin Ci Yun as the object of study, mainly focuses on three major goals.First of all, To clarify the causes and effects of Xie Yuanhuai's academic thoughts by clearing the clues of development of study on Ci in Qing dynasty.To explore how Sui Jin Ci Yun reflected Xie Yuanhuai's academic thought on Ci.Secondly,referring to the methods and results of contemporary scholars in this aspect,by comparing Sui Jin Ci Yun to other books on Ci rhyme in Qing dynasty,evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of Sui Jin Ci Yun.By comparing Sui Jin Ci Yun to Sui Jin Ci Pu and Sui Jin Xu Pu on Ci rhyme,discuss Xie Yuanhuai's methods of Ci rhyme researching.To clear its place in the history of Ci rhyme researching.Thirdly, To judge the initial consonant system and its nature by analyzing the Jiu Yin and Qing Zhuo in Sui Jin Ci Yun.To clear its place in the history of Chinese phonetics.This is the focus of this paper, is also the difficulty.Based on the above objectives, this study is divided into six chapters.The first chapter,Introduce the author Xie Yuanhuai's life experience and the version of Sui Jin Ci Yun briefly.Analyses the compilation background of Sui Jin Ci Yun from the two angles of the Ci rhyme researching in Qing dynasty and Xie Yuanhuai's academic thought on Ci. Discusses the purpose of compiling and its editing style.The second chapter,To explore how Sui Jin Ci Yun results from predecessors,by comparing Sui Jin Ci Yun to other books on Ci rhyme in Qing dynasty.To discuss the clue of historical development on the series of Ci rhyme works which divided Ci rhyme into nineteen parts in Qing dynasty through comparing Sui Jin Ci Yun to Ci Lin Zheng Yun.The third chapter,through comparing Sui Jin Ci Yun to Ci Lin Zheng Yun,We found that the conclusion of two books is just alike,despite there are some differences.We think that Sui Jin Ci Yun is based on summarizing Sui Jin Ci Yun to Sui Jin Ci Pu and Sui Jin Xu Pu, on the other hand,Xie Yuanhuai absorbed his academic thoughts on Ci and referenced previous research results to deal with the differences,which is Xie Yuanhuai's methods of Ci rhyme researching. In addition,we will investigate the relationship between Sui Jin Ci Yun and the old Ci, analyze the causes of differences.Finally,clear its place in the history of Ci rhyme researching.The fourth chapter,we will judge the initial consonant system by analyzing the Jiu Yin and Qing Zhuo in Sui Jin Ci Yun.And analyze its nature by comparing this system to Gu Jin Yun Hui Ju Yao and Kunqu Opera's rhythm.We found that the system frameworks of the sound of Sui Jin Ci Yun and Gu Jin Yun Hui Ju Yao are completely consistent, and the system framework of Sui Jin Ci Yun is very similar to Kunqu Opera's rhythm.Combined with Xie Yuanhuai's academic thought on Ci and the history of Kunqu opera's improving, we believe that what Sui Jin Ci Yun reflects is a initial consonant system which is very similar to Kunqu Opera's rhythm in the mid-late Qing dynasty.The fifth chapter,we discuss the rhyme system of Sui Jin Ci Yun by referencing on Professor. Lu's research results about Song Ci.According to the use of Fanqie, outline the tone system in the text.there are five tones including Yinping,Yangping,Shang,Qu and Ru.The sixth chapter, To clear its place in the history of Chinese phonetics from the angle of the initial consonant system. We believe that what Sui Jin Ci Yun reflects is a initial consonant system which is very similar to Kunqu Opera's rhythm in the mid-late Qing dynasty. Which has the certain reference value to the study of Kunqu opera's history.In addition,we always can find some component in modern Chinese dialect,which is same or similar to the exceptional sound phenomenon in Sui Jin Ci Yun, which is the precious wealth of history of Chinese phonetics and dialect research today, should arouse our attention.
