General Catalogue of Siku Quanshu(GCSQ)records 460 individual collections and 79 Ci collections in the sections of the literary collections.This research adopts the perspective of literary forms to probe into comprehensively the style features of literary,poetry and Ci in the Song dynasties,aiming at sketching the contours of the literature development and drawing the outlines of the features of various literary forms during this period.It brings us great research value and meaning in the literature of Song dynasties.GCSQ takes the microscopic perspective of literary history to make more reasonable judgment on the periodic demarcation and stages in the literature of Song dynasties.In terms of the periodic demarcation,GCSQ weighs the dynasty belonging problem from the authors of song-yuan transitional times whether they are officials,adherents of a former dynasty,older and younger or not.While criticizing the literature of song-yuan transitional times,GCSQ focuses on unearthing the patriotic deeds of adherents of a former dynasty and denouncing the forfeit integrity of renegade officials,which is helpful to measuring the literary quality by means of the moral quality of authors and reflecting the more changeable of the world through the rise and decline of styles of writing.GCSQ considers the demarcation and criticism of literature in transitional times as a kind of criterion of knowledge,combing with official will-to-power in Qing Dynasty and forming the powerful discourse.This style manifests the positive flows,hides the political motives of turbulent and constructs the enlightenment intentions of commending loyalty and fustigating forfeit integrity,eventually realizes the permeation of powerful discourse into the culture and ideology field behind the demarcation and criticism of literature in transitional times.As for the stages in the literature history of Song dynasties,GCSQ classifies the history of literary in Song Dynasties into the early Song Dynasty,the prosperous Song,the early southern Song Dynasty and the late Song Dynasty according to the changes of literature tendencies.It depicts the development history of literary in Song Dynasties from the fraud to the prosper and decline right after flourish from the multi-angle,such as the writers group,the style of works,the schools of literature and the change of literary forms,etc.This style of General Catalogue demonstrates a type of all-round standard of division with the dominance of political reform,but also takes an interest in the intellectuals ethos,the more changeable of the world and the styles of writing.GCSQ surveys the literary history in Song Dynasties adopting the evolution perspective of general transformation,pays much attention to the theoretical and systematic interpretation on literary history and presents a kind of latter-day historiography awareness.As for literary criticism in Song Dynasties,GCSQ takes the point of view of stylistics to go on the criticism,following two literature genres of prose and parallel prose.GCSQ outlines the historical development of literary in Song Dynasties in the academic context of advocating reality in the Qing Dynasty,sharing theses aesthetic characteristics with the quality of righteous,the base of reality and the experiences of administer affairs.In terms of the parallel prose criticism in the Song Dynasty,GCSQ traces out the historical route of parallel prose in the Song Dynasty from the cultural context of renascent parallel prose in the Qing Dynasty.GCSQ adheres to the literary style ideas in which prose and parallel prose are homogenous,pays more attention to the ideographic function that parallel prose expresses meaning and constructs new words,and favours the parallel prose style which is elegant and magnificent.However,GCSQ makes some less objective and impartial judgment about the parallel prose due to the limited compilation time and the numerous compilers.As far as the criticism of Song peotry is concerned,GCSQ grasps the development process of Song peotry in which removes the disadvantages through the styles of changes and unifies the history of peotry through the styles of Ci schools from the macroscopic scale.GCSQ presents us a serial of problems in the literature study of Song poetry,for example,there exist some careless omission and mistakes during the process of citing literatures and some strong subjectively tendentious while selecting and criticizing the literatures.GCSQ demonstrates us a great number of features while surveying the styles and schools of Song poetry,such as focusing on the historical changes of poetry schools,praising fair the literacy style and judging the poetry characters by Confucian ethical thoughts.For the criticism of Song ci-poetry,GCSQ considers Song ci-poety as the summit stage in the development of ci-poetry and reveals objectively the developmental venation of Song ci-poetry,striving to adopt the approach of upright development.Seeing from the description of versions in Song ci-poetry,the version of Song ci-collections in GCSQ mostly follows the Song Famous Ci-poetry compiled by Mao Jin.The emendation and citing of ci-collections mainly borrow other words.Thersfore,there exisit some careless mistakes and omission.In terms of the criticism of Song ci-poetry,GCSQ lays emphasis on the music properties of ci-poetry style,excavates ideographic function of ci-poetry,and enjoys the elegance of ci-poetry.The formation of ci-poetry ideas is closely related to the influence of Western Zhejiang school,the manipulating of official powerful will over culture and compilers' personal preferences to aesthetic ci-poetry.The criticism of Song ci-poetry in GCSQ has great effects on the transmission of later versions of ci-poetry,the emendation of ci-collections and the spreading of ci-poetry ideas.GCSQ constructs the system of literary form with upholding the styles of elegance and orthodox and dismissing the vulgar versions.This system demonstrates the hidden power will which is to Strengthen the royal regime,to advocate the flourishing age and the cultural and educational admoistration and to promote the confucian cultivating thoughts,which brings about certain subjectivity.GCSQ makes these evaluation on the literary criticism research in the Song Dynasties,which to some extent summarises the literacy ideas of government-sponsored schools in the end of feudal society.These ideas provides some valuable references for the later literary development and the literary criticism research.
