“Manchukuo Film Association Ltd.”(“Man'ei”)was founded in August 1937,close down at the end of August 1945.There were eight years.It was the film control institution of Manchukuo,and was the “special state policy society” of Japan,the colonial suzerain.Its scale was the largest film factory in East asia at that time.In August 1945,World War II was over.The Communist Party of China handed over “Man'ei” and the Northeast Film Company was set up in the same year.In October 1st the following year,It changed to the Northeast Film Studio and in February 1955,rebanded as Changchun Film Studio which is the first large-scale film base of Renmin Film and the cradle of the New China film.This paper based on historical data.The study of “Man'ei” and Northeast Film Studio include four parts.The first part includes the background and purpose of Manchukuo Film Association Ltd.'s establishment,“national policy” film system,the institutional mechanism,the conception of the trust movie Empire,the relationship of “Man'ei” and Janpan's mainland film alliance and film production.The second part is about take-over of “Man'ei” at the end of World War II,the establishment of the Northeast Film Company and on the basis of this materials and personnel and the analysis of the historical process and reasons from “Man'ei” to Northeast Film Company.The third part focuses on Northeast film studio,including base construction of Renmin Film,entrepreneurship in Xingshan,relocating back to Changchun.The last part is epilogue.From the “Man'ei” to “Dongying” is the historical process which is from the film colonization to the establishment and development of Renmin Film.It is a trasition history from colonial context to national context.In the study of film history,the establishment of historical view and the enrichment of historical data are the important conditions for the study.This paper is based on the historical context and the basic principles of historical data and trys to find,sort out,discriminate and apply different kinds of new historical materials and information.This study uses a variety of film history research methods,combining history and theory,to carry out academic research.Opinions and arguments are based on this.
