Gaining Small Victory To Great Victory:Innovative Way Of Politics In Viet Nam

The objective of the doctoral thesis is to focus on doing research on the main perspectives in the awareness and practice of the political reform of the Communist Party of Vietnam since1986by conducting research on theoretical and practical foundation of the renovation process, clarifying the main contents of the political reform, thereby gaining experience and proposing some directions and solutions to strengthening Vietnam's political reform in the coming time.The thesis is conducted on the basis of the methodology of dialectical materialism. Historical and logical methods are used as main methods in conjunction with others like analytical, synthetic, comparative methods, etc. as well in accordance with the required thesis structure.The results of the thesis are clarifying the connotation of the concept of "innovation"(Doi moi),"political reform" and synonyms such as "cai to","cai cach". Analyzing the basis that the Communist Party of Vietnam decided to conduct comprehensive renovation of the country in1986including the political reform. It was the Communist Party of Vietnam's process of searching, testing on the theory to reach the innovation, domestic, international and regional background at that time. From these, it had been concluded that the innovation is the vital problem of socialism in Vietnam and the general trend of the era. The thesis studies the perestroika in the Soviet Union, political reform in China and some countries in Southeast Asia, thereby, draw successful as well as unsuccessful learning lessons for reference and application to political reform in Vietnam according to the historical circumstances and conditions of the country.The thesis focuses on clarifying the basic contents of political reform in Vietnam. It can be seen that political reform in Vietnam had been accumulated many years expressing in many issues, in different aspects, levels and scale. However, in brief, there are three basic contents, namely, renewal of political thinking, perfection of socialist democracy, innovation of the organizational and operational methods of the political system, In addition, the thesis also studies the relationship between economic and political reforms in Vietnam. This is the expression of the relationships between two basic areas of social life, which are economics and politics, infrastructure and superstructure, the objective and the subjective, the inevitable and the possible, etc. Vietnam's political reform has to be done on the basis of comprehensive and thorough economic reform with appropriate steps and ways. Finally, the thesis gives experience lessons of the political reform process, thereby, proposes the basic direction and solutions to strengthen political reform in Vietnam in the next period. These are significant issues helping to orient Vietnam's political reform process to right direction and success.
