Since the post World War â…¡, U.S.-Vietnamese relationship, which is still one of the most complicateand diversified bilateral-relationship, has experienced an unconstrained fluctuation of change process. Withthe ending of Cold War, U.S.-Vietnamese relationship has entered into a stage of rapid development,especially their economic relation has been constantly strengthening and deepening, which makes Vietnambecome one of the countries with the fastest economic development around the world in21century. Thisachievement is inseparable with the multiform development of U.S.-Vietnamese economic relationship.Reviewing the develop process of U.S.-Vietnamese economic relationship, summarizing its nature andfeature and propounding political suggestions according to its problems, all of these have become carvingof all contemporary scholars who study the Vietnamese strategy, revolutionary political and economicpolicies.The thesis starts with the theory of economic diplomacy, and analysis and study systematically of thepractice situation of Vietnam on the U.S. economic diplomacy in the post-Cold War. Except theintroduction, the article is divided into five charters. The first charter is theoretical construction, by teasingapart the economic diplomacy analysis perspective in academic community and reviewing the practiceprocess and situation of economic diplomacy, setting the essential preparation for drawing Vietnameseeconomic diplomacy into the analysis. The second charter reviews the development process of Vietnameseforeign policies in history perspective, including the foundation of Vietnamese foreign policies, the processof foreign route construction and the main content of contemporary foreign policy. Economic diplomacy isa significant part of the state's overall diplomacy, and this charter lays out the main background ofVietnam's economic diplomacy. The third chapter is the focus of this article, which summarizes the foreignpolicy of Vietnam to the United States economy and practice in post-Cold War. in this charter, Vietnameseeconomic diplomacy to the United States during post Cold War is divided in three stages from1995to2000,2005to2001and2006to the present. In different times, the Vietnamese economic diplomacy to the UnitedStates has different content and features. Combining the historical review of the third chapter and the basisof the first chapter of the economic diplomacy theory, the fourth chapter analyzes the decision-makingmechanism and domestic and international constraints of Vietnam on the U.S. economic diplomacy. Thefifth chapter makes a prediction to the Vietnamese economic diplomacy which points to the United Statesand policy recommendations on how to develop the Vietnam-US economic relations further more.The thesis argues that with the development of globalization, Vietnam and U.S. will accumulate moreand more common interests, which pave the way for their future cooperation. Despite of the ideologydifference, historic grievances, different level of development and diverse political and economic system,the economic relationship of Vietnam and U.S. will step on a new level. Consequently, it will spill over tothe field of economy, security and culture, and promote the Vietnam-U.S. relationship develop steadily andsmoothly.
