The aim of this study was to investigate the emotional response to injury and rehabilitation process .The emotional response is affected by a number of variables. This study tries to identify the variable which is mostly important to maintain the emotion of injured soccer players as normal as possible after injury. The subject of this study were 26 male severely injured players from three different level of Ethiopian professional soccer clubs, with the age mean of 26.04 standard deviation of 2.26 who have sustained injury during training session or competition program. The subjects were grouped in to treatment (6) and control groups(20). Two different standardized questionnaires were used to collect the necessary information. The first one is Sport Injury Rehabilitation Belief Survey (SIRBS) which contains 22 questions, and the second one is Psychological Response to Injury Inventory(PRII) contains 25 questions. At the first meeting all members of the groups were completed and return both questionnaires. Before completing the PRII questionnaires for the second time, treatment group members were taken psychological intervention program which includes goal setting, relaxation, and imagination for three days per week. The result was analyzed by using SPSS software. The result indicated that psychological interventions which were given to injured players changed their post injury emotions.
