The educational animation is a very obvious type of animations,but its concept has been blurred for many reasons.This paper aims to answer what the educational animation is,namely,the ontology of the educational animation.Three conditions need to be met for the educational animation: First,the work has the educational intention that can be felt,meaning that the creator has a clear sense as the educational subject;Second,people hold a relatively unified concept of educational activities.Because of this concept projection,the concept of the educational animation can be universally recognized.Third,the educational animation has the characteristics in form that are relatively stable and different from other animation categories.The awareness of being the educational subject and educational concept of the creator and the form of the educational animation interact as both cause and effect,forming the structure of the concept of the educational animation.Therefore,clarifying the definition of the educational animation means distinction,mainly the distinction between it and the artistic animation.It is empirically very easy to recognize whether the creation of an animation is for aesthetic purposes or for educational purposes.This is very different from other art forms in that children are the largest recipients of animations and their media-building role enables creators to consciously provide educational services to children through animations.This is most obviously manifested in the form of educational animations:the animation narration is no longer a closed story environment due to the intervention of educational intention,but rather delays and blocks.The reason why the changes of this form can be carried out smoothly is that the animation’s nature of signifying narrative.As an image narrative,its ideographic characteristics are different from the photographic images and language symbols.The image can both be clear to make clear the reality of the world and change and be blurred in meaning to form a closed,fictional story world.Image narration lies between the language andphotographic narration,which just facilitates the intervention of education.Moreover,the concept of education is a modern one,and in pre-modern times education and art were often inseparable.The historical change of education and art of being "combined-separate-combined" can make us see the manifestation of humanistic education tradition in the educational animation.In this way,"figure and text" and "narration and signifying" in form,"teaching and guiding" and "preaching and example teaching" in education,"education and art" in the historical category,and "nature and culture" and "specialness and generalness" in cognition can all be linked to develop thinking,and the stable isomorphism and change pedigree in the concept of the educational animation can be found.On this basis,we can classify the educational animation scientifically and analyze the mechanism of its function,which makes the theory of educational animation more meaningful in the orientation of practice.This is the basic structure of the theory of educational animation ontology.To a large extent,the concept of artistic self-discipline has made "non-utility in aesthetics" breach its original purpose.At the same time,in this era of entertainment supremacy,"the disappearance of childhood" is more and more becoming the reality that everyone is experiencing.The problems of utilitarian education and education equity are difficult to solve.Freedom and value rationality together with children’s innocence are exiled by our society.In this regard,practitioners in the mass media,art production and education can no longer be indifferent.In the field of humanistic education,art is more effective against the alienation brought by instrumental rationality.Therefore,the research of this paper also aims to return the multiple forms of image narration to animation,break a series of popular concepts and reiterate the ethical responsibility of animation theory and creation.
