Research On Producer Service Trade And Upgrading Of Export Sophistication

Since 1980s,the world economy gradually goes into the service economy,the service sector especially the producer service has an important influence and plays an increasingly important role in economic development.At the same time,the international division of labor system has also undergone profound changes.Comparative advantage from inter industry division of labor gradually deep into the value chain.Under the new division systen,as a intermediate input produce service can link up production processes which be scattered in various production areas,promote the development of the value chain.In the wave of global value chain development,as the largest developing country,according to labor and land resource advantages,China manufacturing industry has participated in international division of labor actively.Since then on,the scope of participation in the global international division continues to expand,and the participation degree is deepening.However,compared with developed countries,China’s export sophistication is lower.The mode of growth of China’s manufacturing needs to change.High value-added part of the value chain mainly consists of producer services.The paper studies the influence of producer services and the effect on manufacturing export sophistication,which is of great significance to improve the status of international division of labor.This paper constructs a theoretical model of the influence of producer services on export sophistication evolution,the influence mechanisms of producer service on export sophistication includes the following aspects,they are the effects of technological spillovers effect,resource reallocation effect,economies of scale effect and cost savings effect.Then analyze the international division of labor status and producer services.This paper pays more attention to quality of trade in services,on the one hand,by measuring the technological level of production service export,combining with TC index and RCA index,we analyze the international competitiveness of producer services trade;On the other hand,based on the export sophistication,compared with the developed countries,this paper can accurately measure the Chinese manufacturing division status.After that,this paper uses cross-country panel data,classifies the sample of countries into high-income countries and the new economy,and analyzes the influence of production service on manufacturing exports sophistication.Based on the revelation of transnational empirical research,this paper uses China’s industry data,classifies production service into different types,and analyzes the influence of production service on China’s manufacturing exports sophistication.Finally,and concludes the dissertation and points out the policy suggestion.This dissertation arrives at the following major conclusions:(1)First,China producer service develops rapidly,but international competitiveness is weak.Based on the technical content perspective,this paper constructs technological index of production service export,combining with TC index and RCA index,we analyze the international competitiveness of producer services trade,the international competitiveness of China’s producer services trade doesn’t show ascendant trend.Compared with the developed countries,the international competitiveness is weak.(2)Chinese manufacturing division status has improved,but still at the low end of the global value.Because the export sophistication can reflect the manufacturing division of labor situation in a country,this paper uses the index to analyze the situation of the manufacturing division However the status of manufacturing international division of labor status of the manufacturing sector has improved,compared with the developed countries,the export sophistication is low.(3)Producer services can enhance the export sophistication.Producer service is a key factor in enhancing export sophistication.The influence on different types of manufacturing industries is different,the influence on capital-intensive industries and techno logy-intensive industries is more obvious,and the influence on labor-intensive industries is relatively low.(4)Different types of services can influence exports sophistication in different ways,this paper selects financial services(high-tech producer services),computer information technology services(mid-high-tech producer services)and logistics services(low-tech producer)three representative producer services to analyze mechanism.Research shows that the influence of high-tech producer services on the export sophistication is more obvious.
