In past few years, the constraint of public resources allocation, making non-profit organizations in the management of many challenges, so at the same time with social values and business performance of the innovative type of social enterprises gradually rise. But social enterprises must think about innovative management strategies to respond to internal and external challenges in an efficient way of doing business,alleviating and resolving certain social problems and achieving self-sufficiency from the third sector roles outside government and business organizations. Hong Kong is an open economy city, both social enterprises and profitable business organizations encounter the fiercely competitive environment. For the general public and consumers, both price and quality of a product or service must be competitive in order to live, when the strongest survives. Social enterprises should have the appropriate business model and strategy in order to create social value at the same time, but also to maintain good business performance to ensure sustainable development. Social enterprises play an important role in promoting the further development of society and solving the social problem.This thesis attempts to define the nature of social enterprises from the perspective of enterprise management in the macro perspective of the development of social enterprises on a global scale. By discussing the concept of social enterprises, the background, the business environment and the obstacles encountered. The "Senior Citizens’ Housing Services Association" and "Dialogue in the Dark" as the entry point,analyzes the advanced governance mechanism, management elements, benefit assessment and competitiveness of Hong Kong social enterprises. At the same time,combined with the literature research, in the combing and drawing on the previous research results, to assess the lack of basis, and then designed the various factors of the measurement variables and the questionnaire, made a pre-survey (to improve the questionnaire) and the official Hong Kong social enterprises Sample-based questionnaire survey, and the statistical analysis of the data obtained, verify the theoretical model and the assumptions. On the basis of further discussing the meaning of each hypothesis, some aspects of previous research are empirically based on different aspects, and some new ideas of the author are put forward. According to the collected data analysis, combined with selected representative social enterprise interviews and in-depth research, the social enterprise characteristics, resources, business strategy and competitive performance and business performance to prove the hypothesis.The Innovative business strategy is an important variable involved in this paper.Based on the characteristics of social enterprise background, the source and input of resources are different from those of general profit business. Social enterprises according to their characteristics of the combination and management elements, through the development of appropriate and effective business strategy to organize and good use of resources to achieve the desired social and economic value of the dual objectives and sustainable development. Based on the theoretical basis and case interviews of the social enterprises described in the literature, the author hypothesized the theoretical design questionnaire and collected the analysis data to demonstrate the original hypothesis. At the same time, an analytical tool is added to the social value chain analysis model of "input-output-result-influence", which can better describe how social enterprises operate, earn economic benefits, generate social impact and create social value to demonstrate the hypothesis of the relationship between the variables. From the past study of social enterprises from "what?" and "why?" In depth and extended to"how to do?" To enhance its competitiveness in order to ensure the achievement of the social value and the commercial approach to sustainable development of the dual bottom line objectives. To strengthen those small and weak social enterprises with comprehensive research, model data analysis and inferences to make recommendations,look forward to promoting the sustainable development of Hong Kong’s social enterprises to make some reference.The innovation of this paper is as follows:First, based on the literature and case studies, the connotation of the concept of social enterprise characteristics is redefined. This paper analyzes the current operating mechanism of social enterprises in Hong Kong, combines the understanding of enterprise innovation management, introduces modern sustainable development theory,and as a theoretical basis for continuous innovation research of social enterprises, and integrates an effective social enterprise innovation management strategy, Enterprises of academic research and practice to put forward a reasonable analysis and recommendations.Secondly, the theoretical model of the social enterprise characteristics, the social enterprise management strategy and the social enterprise performance is established.The influence of the three main social enterprise characteristics on different business strategies is analyzed, and the business strategy is finally adapted to the social enterprise performance Impact. And through path analysis, reveals the direction and difference between them. As a breakthrough of previous studies of competition strategies,advantages and the relationship between business performance, corporate characteristics and the relationship between business performances deficiencies.Thirdly , this thesis makes an extension and expansion of the theory of enterprise strategic management in the field of social enterprise, which makes up for the lack of isolated research on social enterprise performance evaluation system, social enterprise characteristic and social enterprise strategy, so as to extract the social enterprise competitiveness The scientific and effective program.In this thesis, there are some shortcomings, limited to time, manpower and material resources. The questionnaire is mainly Hong Kong, the sample size is not big enough,inevitably will have some negative impact on the research, and social enterprises in Hong Kong is in the growth stage, some features yet to be clear To reveal, will also affect the author’s in-depth study of the problem.
