SMEs(Small and Medium-sized Enterprises)are important components of social economic development and national innovation.However,for those enterprises possessing merely limited strength and resources,they are bound to confront with an alternative in the process of technological innovation---to deploy the exploitative innovation at minor risks on the basis of pre-existing knowledge,or to focus on the exploratory innovation of certain challenge that requires more brand-new knowledge.The capacity of knowledge absorbing is instrumental for enterprises in obtaining and creating knowledge.Thus comes a guarantee of securing knowledge resources for those enterprises in the course of innovation.Organizational memory not only includes a storage of application-oriented knowledge that is needed for innovation,but also knowledge of practice and process that enterprises can achieve core competitive advantages.As regards those enterprises,it is of vital importance of fast-yielding solution during the process,and the choice of right innovation patterns to investigate into influence mechanism of the choice of innovation pattern to the absorptive capacity and organizational memory,and to analyze the inner influence relationships in innovation.Therefore,this paper has adopted resource-based,absorbing capacity,and organizational learning theories,analyzed the operation mechanism among absorbing capacity,organizational memory and SMEs innovation,aiming at finding out the operation characteristics and rules that absorbing capacity and organizational memory has on the choice of innovation of those enterprises,which have provided theoretical guidance for rationally choosing innovation patterns and promoting innovation level.This paper has defined the meaning and made related theoretical analysis to the correlative concepts.Using resource-based and knowledge-based theories,it further analyzes the resource selection dilemma that SMEs are confronted with in the process of innovation and its impact on innovation pattern selection.The innovation influence mechanism of absorbing capacity and organizational memory is analyzed.It analyzes the dilemma and limitations that SMEs are faced with in the equilibrium between exploitative innovation and exploratory innovation,which are promoted through summarizing researches on its balance between the exploitative innovation and exploratory innovation.As for enterprises'characteristic of deficiency in resources,this paper analyzes demand characteristics of their innovation pattern selection to the knowledge resources required.Subsequently,it describes and analogizes the transition model that boosts the organizational memory.Besides,it also compared the influence process and characteristics of absorbing capacity and organizational memory respectively to the innovation of SMEs.In the light of the influence relationships among absorbing capacity,organizational memory and innovation of SMEs,this paper puts forward hypothesis of empirical research,accentuating the discussion on the impact of potential and reality absorbing capacity on declarative and procedural organizational memory,and on the duality innovation of SMEs.It also pays attention to the impact of declarative and procedural organizational memory on the duality innovation of those enterprises.On the scale of organizational memory,the paper analyzes the relationships between the complement of organizational memory and exploitative innovation and exploratory innovation of SMEs,and the impact of their innovation patterns on the innovation performance.According to their relationships,the paper puts forward the hypothesis and established the conception model of the impact of absorbing capacity and organizational on the innovation of SMEs.This paper embarks on the empirical test of the raised hypothesis and result illustration.As for the characteristics of information disclosure of SMEs,it obtains statistics through questionnaire survey.In accordance with relevant research literature,the paper selects several measurement indexes that have been exemplified to be of relatively high credibility and validity.SEM has also been applied for the path examination of the relationships of partial variables,which further examines the fundamental relations among absorbing capacity,organizational memory and innovation of SMEs,including analysis of the role that organizational memory has played between two of them.It simultaneously examines the relationship among the complement of organizational memory and exploitative innovation and exploratory innovation of SMEs.Integrating the characteristics of innovation in SMEs,this paper has made explanation accordingly for the result of empirical research.Puts forwards solutions to the promotion of absorbing capacity,the level of organizational memory and guaranteed innovation capacity for SMEs.
