Entrepreneurship is widely regarded as an important engine of economic development. It not only promotes the upgrading of existing industrial structures, but also provides a means to boost employment levels.Graduate students,as an academic sub-group characterized by abundant knowledge reserves, are receiving increasing attention of late in relation to entrepreneurial pursuits. At the same time, universities are starting to play a key role in promoting the entrepreneurial vitality and energy of their graduate students.Through the implementation of entrepreneurial supports, universities can inspire students' entrepreneurial intentions and behaviors, thereby cultivating and shaping successful future entrepreneurs. At present, research investigating the impact of entrepreneurial supports on entrepreneurial intentions is relatively limited. The research also has notable deficiencies, chief among which is the inconsistency of the research conclusions. Some studies have shown that entrepreneurial supports positively impact entrepreneurial intentions, while other studies indicate that entrepreneurial supports have no impact on entrepreneurial intentions.Another deficiency is the lack of research on the intermediate mechanisms of entrepreneurial supports and intentions.Existing research on intermediate mechanisms mainly focuses on the mediating role of individual cognitive variables.Research that looks into the impact of affect as mediators is scarce,as is research on boundary conditions in the intermediate process. Finally, research to date mainly deals with entrepreneurial supports as an independent variable, whereas basically no research has been conducted that looks at entrepreneurial supports as a moderator. In light of these research gaps, the present study uses graduate students as research objects and discusses the influence of entrepreneurial supports on entrepreneurial intentions from the perspective of the effects of entrepreneurial supports, whether direct, indirect,or moderating. The study is divided into three sections.First, under the framework of the theory of planned behavior,it explores the impact of entrepreneurial supports on entrepreneurial intentions, taking into account the moderator of gender. In the second section, the study explores the mediator role of entrepreneurial passion between entrepreneurial supports and entrepreneurial intentions. The moderator of regulation focus is also discussed in this section. In the third part, the moderator of entrepreneurial supports is discussed with regard to is relationship among the variables of entrepreneurial motivation, creativity and entrepreneurial self-efficacy.Following a review of the literature, the present study proposes a research hypothesis based on theoretical reasoning. This is followed by an explanation of the research design and data collection process.Using SPSS19,HLM2 and other software, the study then analyzes the data collected via questionnaire surveys. Finally, the results of the study are discussed and summarized, and the theoretical contribution and practical significance of the study are elaborated. The three main research findings are presented below.First, based on the theory of planned behavior, the study explores the impact of entrepreneurial supports on entrepreneurial intentions and considers the moderator of gender. The results show that entrepreneurial supports positively influence entrepreneurial intentions and that gender moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial supports and attitude as well as perceived behavioral control.Overall, female graduate students show a stronger relationship between entrepreneurial supports and attitude and perceived behavioral control.Second, based on theory of SOR(simulus-organism-response),the research discusses the mediator of entrepreneurial passion between entrepreneurial supports and entrepreneurial intentions, and considers the moderator of regulatory focus. The results of the study indicate that entrepreneurial passion partly mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial supports and entrepreneurial intentions. In addition, regulatoty focus moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial supports and entrepreneurial passion.Specifically, promotion focus positively moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial supports and entrepreneurial passion, whereas prevention focus negatively moderates the same relationship.Third, based on the theory of self-efficacy,the research investigates how entrepreneurial supports moderate relationships among entrepreneurial motivation, creativity, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy,thereby impacting entrepreneurial intentions. The study's results show that entrepreneurial motivation and creativity have a positive impact on entrepreneurial intentions, but that entrepreneurial self-efficacy partly mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial motivation, creativity, and entrepreneurial intentions.Meanwhile, entrepreneurial supports positively moderate the relationship between entrepreneurial motivation and entrepreneurial self-efficacy but negatively moderate the relationship between creativity and entrepreneurial self-efficacy.The theoretical significance of this study could have broad applications.First of all, from data collected across multiple levels, the research reveals a strong influence of entrepreneurial supports on entrepreneurial intentions at the organizational level. Its mechanism of action includes independent variables and moderators.Secondly, the study has deepened the research on mediators between entrepreneurial supports and entrepreneurial intentions, including the mediators of attitude, perceived behavior control, subjective norms and entrepreneurial passion.Thirdly, the research broadens the exploration of boundary conditions between entrepreneurial supports and entrepreneurial intentions by discussing gender as a moderator between entrepreneurial supports and attitude, perceived behavior control, and subjective norms. It also broadens the discussion on moderators of regulatory focus between entrepreneurial supports and entrepreneurial passion. On the practical side, the findings could provide some reference points for government, universities, and society in general to increase their supports for entrepreneurship as well as to improve the attitudes, perceived behavior control, and subjective norms of graduate students.Furthermore,in order to increase the level of entrepreneurial intentions of female graduate students, efforts should be made to improve their attitudes and perceived behavior control.Additionally, during the process of implementing entrepreneurial supports, universities could strive to enhance the entrepreneurial passion of graduate students by stimulating students' entrepreneurial vision and enhancing the level of promotion focus.Lastly,in promoting entrepreneurial motivation and creativity, universities could also strengthen the classification and guidance work for individuals with high levels of creativity while strengthening the process of supervision, guidance, and feedback.
