The traditional "Organization and Environment" co-evolution study shows that organizational behavior can directly lead to the result,that is,get organizational performance changes,and realize the organization’s adaptation to the external environment in order to survive and develop.However,with the increasing uncertainty in the external environment,the behaviors and actions of enterprise cannot directly affect the long-term performance,in order to achieve long-term performance,the co-evolution process between the organization and the environment,that is,the process between the behavior and the results requires interaction to withstand.From the realistic background,more and more organizations are embedded in diverse and extensive network relationship nowadays.They are not only have the attributes of traditional industrial organizations which can affect the market through explicit value link structures,its general product attributes and trading rules can realize the interaction and circulation with external social values,but also the attributes of social organizations which can widely embedded in social network relationship,achieve more extensive value creation,carrying,delivery and release in social complex external connections and interactions.Therefore,Network relationship have become an effective carrier for co-evolution of "organizations and the environment".From the theoretical background,firstly,existing research focuses on the relationship test between relationship embedding and organizational performance,the intrinsic mechanism of Network relationship as a basic background in the organization of Network relationship has not been able to dig deeper.Secondly,based on the lens of paradox,the current studies on Network relationship behavior conflict in the context of Network relationship has barely involved.Thirdly,based on the lens of paradox,there lacks an overall analysis research to explore the internal processes and mechanisms of network relationship behavior and dynamic capability release.Based on the above realistic background and theoretical background,this article integrate the three theories of network relationship,paradox and dynamic capability and takes the organization of art institutions in the art industry as the research object to explore the process that art organizations adapt to the environment and take initiative behaviors through network relationships based on the lens of paradox.Thus,this article builds the dynamic capability release of the organization from the outside to the inside and from inside to outside in the context of network relationship.This article in detail studies the process and the mechanism of artistic institution’ network relationship behavior and dynamic capability release,which contains the process of organizational network relationships adapting and enabling the environment.First,by fsQCA research methods,this article collects data from 31 artists in the organization of art based on semi-structured interviews,and in-depth exploration and verification of the key relationship between the company’s key players in the network to adapt to the external environment and the impact of the relationship.That is,from the lens of paradox on the behavior of network relationship at the individual level to promote the accumulation process of preconditions for the organizational dynamic capability release from the outside to the inside.To be more specific,this paper proposes the different configurations of the enterprise key entities using the individual/organization role network relationship behavior and network relationship diversity and intensity attributes,which can impact academic and market capabilities in the role transformation.This paper finds that the enterprise key entities are most conducive to their ability improving through the balance of the behavior of the individual and the organization’s role in the network relationship conflict,or the establishment of the dual role network relationship.Second,by adopting a vertical two-case comparative study method,this article explores the process of adaptation to the environment at the organizational level,which means the research on the prerequisites accumulation process of organizational network relationship behavior to release organizational dynamic capability from outside to inside based on the perspective of paradox.This article reveals the process of dynamic evolution of the organizational network relationship “focusing-diffusion-shrinkage”,and adopting the process of scholarly network relationship behavior or market network relationship behavior to response the process and underlying mechanism of behavior enhancing capacity.In this way,the dynamic evolution path of network relationship,action process and the theoretical model’s mechanism of contingent,paradoxical response behavior are constructed.To be more specific,in the dynamic evolution path process of the organizational network relationship "focus-diffusion",both the contingency and paradox response behaviors promote the academic development and market development of art institutions,and the former promotes more than the latter.In the dynamic evolution path process of the organizational network relationship "diffusion-shrinkage ",the contingency response behavior hindered the academic development and market development of art institutions but the paradox response behavior is the opposite,in this case,the paradox is better than the contingency.Third,adopt the vertical single case study method,this article explores the process of enabling the environment at the organizational level,which means the research on the process of organizational network relationship behavior to release organizational dynamic capability from inside to outside based on the perspective of paradox.To be more specific,organizational networking relationship behavior which can also be said networking relationship focusing and networking relationship diffusion,the cyclic interaction between the two conflicting behaviors form the network relationship binary behavior,and constructing the dynamic cyclic process of paradox.Thus reconstructing the process of releasing organizational dynamics from the inside out in the context of network relationship,and revealing how organizations promote formation of an self-adaptive system within the organization and release dynamic capabilities from the inside out based on the network relationship enabling behavior.Innovation points of this article are mainly reflected in three aspects.First of all,this study proposes the organizational network relationship adaptation behavior and network relationship enabling behavior which embedded in network relationships.The current study proposes establishing action logic in a competitive network relationship in response to dynamic environment,and this study clearly proposes the response of dynamic environment by the network relationship adaptation behavior and network relationship enabling behavior.Beside,this article explores the dual behavior of different scene in the context of network relationship from organizational network relationship action,constructs a dynamic circular process of paradox,and provides new research directions for network relationship,duality and paradox theory.In the process of adapting and enabling the environment by network relationship,both the individual and the organizational level establish a dynamic circular process of paradox through dual behaviors,and promote organizations continuously release potential and activate access to external resources and opportunities.Last but not least,this article reveals the process from the release prerequisites of dynamic capabilities to release of dynamic capabilities from inside to outside,and expands the connotation definition and research scope of dynamic capability.This study reveals the process from prerequisites accumulation of dynamic capability outside in to the release of dynamic capability inside out through network relationship,these findings have brought important theoretical enlightenment and management inspiration to current research. |
