Industrialization is an important strategic direction for the Chinese construction industry to achieve the goal of traditional industrial upgrading, and prefabricated construction is the main measure to implement this construction industrialization.Further, informatization is the central step to improving the accuracy and efficiency of prefabricated construction, through the high level sharing of resources between various professional subjects at each stage of the project.Because precast components are the basic elements of prefabricated buildings,it is more effective to manage the whole lifecycle of prefabricated buildings by accurately locating and tracking precast components.Locating and tracking precast components is a dynamic process, which is conducted throughout the lifecycle of prefabricated buildings, and is closely related to the work content of each phase. Therefore, understanding the whole process of the entire lifecycle of prefabricated buildings, and analyzing and summarizing the required component space information for each stage of the work, are significant prerequisites for establishing a reasonable precast component locating and tracking technology chain.Obviously,it is difficult to meet all demands in the locating and tracking process using only one type of technique.Accordingly,it is necessary to determine the functions of locating and tracking techniques, and their advantages, disadvantages, and applicability,to formulate appropriate technical solutions according to the characteristics of the prefabricated building. In addition, research into the locating and tracking technology chain, and spatial information management of precast components is cross-disciplinary research. This is not only related to architecture, but also related to civil engineering, surveying engineering, computer, automation, and other disciplines. However, current research mainly focuses on subjects other than architecture. From the perspective of architecture,it is rare to study precast component locating and tracking technology in the lifecycle of prefabricated building comprehensively.Meanwhile, the architectural profession plays a leading role in the whole process of prefabricated buildings, involving collecting, evaluating and sharing information between different participants at all stages of the project to complete the information chain. The absence of studies on precast component locating and tracking technology from an architectural perspective will result in fragmentation of component spatial information, difficulties in achieving deep involvement in all phases of the project, and problems with coordination of each discipline.Regarding the above-mentioned actual needs, and the problems existing in the current research, this study determines the main types of structure and structural components, and the whole lifecycle process of prefabricated buildings.Further, the spatial information required in each project stage, and the content of precast components locating and tracking(which can be divided into logistics and construction levels according to accuracy)are summarized. At the logistics level, the tracking accuracy needs to meet the requirements of transportation and operation management of precast components. At the construction level, the locating accuracy(which is higher than tracking accuracy),needs to satisfy the requirements of production and assembly of precast components.Following this, the function and applicability of databases(including BIM and GIS),surveying technology(such as GNSS),intelligent total station, threedimensional laser scanning and photogrammetry, recognition and location technology(such as RFID),and two-dimensional code and indoor positioning, are analyzed in detail.Subsequently, the technology chain for locating and tracking structural precast components in the prefabricated building lifecycle(based on the assembly building information management platform),and the data collection system, are established. These are explored from both the logistics and construction perspectives. Finally, the method of locating, tracking, and supervising information on precast component throughout the lifecycle is described with the assembly building information management platform as the core. This will focus on the design, production, and construction process of lightweight building systems. From the architectural perspective, regarding the assembling and disassembling of structural components,a technology chain for precast component locating and tracking in a prefabricated building lifecycle is established, using database and data acquisition technology. This study has a certain reference significance for integrating the spatial information of components in each stage of the project, forming a complete information chain, coordinating various professional work, and optimizing resource allocation. These are the key aspects to realizing refined management of components and improving the efficiency of prefabricated construction. There are approximately 16,0000 characters, with 143 illustrations and 63 charts.
