General collection of Qing Ci selected by scholars in Qing dynasty is an indispensable part when we study Ci poetry of Qing dynasty, which includes three forms:collected works, selected works and series of books. "The scholar in Qing dynasty" ranges from "the three talents of Yunjian" and other Ci Poets during late Ming and early Qing periods to "the four great Ci poets" and other Ci poets in late Qing dynasty.This research is divided into two parts. Part ? focuses on theory while Part ? is an investigation of sixty-six general collections of Qing Ci.There are four chapters in Part ?. The first chapter elaborates on a overview of general collections of Qing Ci, which divided to four tape. First, it expounds on compiling purpose, compiling pattern and stage of general collections of Qing Ci. Second, it discusses type and feature of compilers and compiling sources. Third, it demonstrates the functions of general collection of Qing Ci. One is storage function and the other is critical function, which includes of explicit criticism and implicit criticism. Explicit criticism can be seen from prefaces and epilogues, explanatory notes and comments while implicit criticism comes from the content of collection.The second chapter specificly demonstrates regional general collection of Qing Ci in three sections. The first section explores the feature of regional general collection, and also pays attention to familial general collections involved in it. Also, it studys derivative relationships between regional general collection and other general collections. The second section studys the regional general collection aiming at preserving Ci poets and works, which includes regional general collection aiming at preserving regional Ci poets and works and regional general collection aiming at preserving famous Ci poets in that area. The regional general collection preserving regional Ci poets and works pays attention to obscure Ci poets and preserves many Ci poets in that area. Besides, different kinds of regional general collections cross and overlap in selecting areas. The third section mainly studys the general collection which set up faction, which includes general collection constitued by individual collection series, general collection compiling by melody and general collections compiling by Ci poets etc. The general collection which set up faction provides conditions for setting up faction, including average proportion in range of choice, important leader of Ci school and similar style among Ci poets. At last, it discusses the relationships and influences among regional general collections by taking "the anthology of Xiling" as an example.The third chapter studys the coterie general collection of Qing Ci in three sections. The first section summarizes a overview of coterie general collection of Qing Ci. The second section demonstrates the relationship between coterie general collection of Qing Ci with Ci poetry at turbulent times. First, it studys the common features of Ci poetry in late Ming dynasty and late Qing dynasty judging from general collections of Qing Ci and its reflection in general collections of Qing Ci. Second, it demonstrates the reflection of Bixing Jituo theory in coterie general collection of Qing Ci. At last, it discusses the whole literary style, which is improved by the Bixing Jituo theory in the coterie general collection of Qing Ci. The third section elaborates the relationship between coterie general collection of Qing Ci with Ci poetry at peace time. It demonstrates a few responsories and its coterie general collection in early Qing dynasty such as Guangling Reponsories, Hongqiao Responsories which blends different kinds of Ci styles. Then, it discusses the disadvantages of Zhexi school's influences. At last, by examing all kinds of coterie general collections of Qing Ci, it can be found how Ci poetry reform and innovate in the mediocre history of Qing Ci.The fourth chapter is a general research on the whole text of general collections of Qing Ci selected by scholars in Qing dynasty, which is divided into two sections. The first section mainly explores the relations between general collection and the history of Qing Ci, the history of Qing Ci written by female writers, school of Qing Ci. Also it studys viewpoint of history of Qing Ci judging from general collections of Qing Ci. The conclusions are as follows. First, general collection of Qing Ci provides original literature which helps to construct the history of Qing Ci since various general collections of Qing Ci complete each other in each stage and content. Second, general collections of Qing Ci also provide original literature for constructing the history of Qing Ci written by female writers. Third, each school of Qing Ci and its general collection builds up various independent systems, which also interact with each other, thus finally a thread of history of Qing Ci emerges. At last, it evaluates how general collection of Qing Ci inherits Ci poetry of northern Song and southern Song dynasty and the viewpoints of the history of Qing Ci reflected in it.The second section demonstrates the canonization of famous Ci poets judging from general collections of Qing Ci. First, a group of famous Ci poets in Qing dynasty can be concluded from all kinds of general collections of Qing Ci. By using statistics, it can be seen that the famous Ci poets whose works are selected more times in general collections of Qing Ci match with the famous Ci poets in the Cihua collection and "The History Of Qing Ci". Second, it indentifys the classic style of famous Ci poets by judging their works included in general collections of Qing Ci. For example, it can be seen that Nalan Xingde is skilled in Xiaoling. At last, it investigates the canonazation of Ci poets and their poems which is reflected in general collections of Qing Ci by taking an example of "the three famous Ci poets of Qing dynasty", namley Chen Weisong, Zhu Yizun and Nalan Xingde.Part ? is an investigation of sixty-six general collections of Qing Ci, which are abundant in material. It ranks general collections of Qing Ci according to compiling time, and if compiling time was not exact, printing time would be considered. The investigation includes biography of compilers, compiling time and location, a brief introduction of its content and the investigation of versions, which focuses on the brief introduction of its content and emphasizes on statistics and analysis of specific Ci poets and his works.
