Given the international trend and contemporary mission of Chinese music culture nowadays,this paper analize and reflect the basic idea of music foundation courses in teacher colleges.The paper considers that higher music education in our country are faced with following challenges: Firstly,the challenge from the single musical culture.Secondly,the challenge from globalization.Thirdly,the challenge from the the fourth industrial revolution.Fourthly,the challenge from future demand for talents because of the knowledge transformation and the social change.Finally,the challenge from the revitalization of Chinese excellent traditional music culture.Because there is a simple tendency on the basic idea of music foundational courses in teacher colleges at present-musical education philosophy with aesthetics as the core,modernity in musical knowledge type,Europe-centralism curriculum culture and so on,these create a cognitive barrier to students' perception of the world's multicultural music,and distort the conception‘music'.These conditons are disadvantage for inherting and revitalizing Chinese traditional music,and which are also disadvantage for cultural identity.And what's more,Chinese students will have to be confronted with a cultural barrier because of lacking of understanding multicultural music of the world in the future.For all of these reasons,a new solution is presented—infiltrates a basic idea of multicultural music course into music foundational courses in teacher colleges;analyzes music from different dimensions of music foundation courses;excavates the inherent values of multicultural music;leads students to roundly reflect on multicultural music on the world;replaces European basic music theory for an new explanatory system on music,in order to get out of ‘Europe centered' value system;and builds a theory foundation for knowing their culture each other;seeks a new theoretical pivot for justly and reasonably assessing different music culture;and provides a necessary international literacy for cultivating talents in the new century.For the above reasons,this paper reviews and reflects the basic idea of music foundational courses in teacher colleges,reconstructs the curriculum designs based on multicultural concept,propose new curriculum objects,design principles,methods,implementation strategy,and design a new curriculun ‘basic music theory and solfeggio and ear's training'as an example,presenting five methods(patterns)on music teaching:1.the pattern of participating with mind and body based on situational awareness(includes ‘passing on by word of mouth');2.the pattern of conflicting vs understanding;3.the pattern of connecting and sharing;4 the pattern of knowledge-based crowd-funding.5.the pattern of reflecting and criticizing.
