Research On Poverty Relief And Development In The Dulong River Township In Gongshan County Of Yunnan Province

Derung has been living on the border between China and Burma since many generations.It's located in the valley of Derung River in Gongshan Derung Nu uutonomous county of Yunnan province,with a population of about 7000 people,and adjacent to the north of Burma.A few scattered in Vichy County of Yunnan Province and Zayu county of Tibet.Dulong River township is the only inhabited area of Derung.Due to remoteness,harsh natural conditions and low social development,it has relatively fallen behind other ethnic minorities in economic and social development.The causes of poverty are complex,and poverty relief remains costly and difficult.As an ethnic minority group of "the directly-entering-socialism",cross-border and less population,Derung poverty has attacted high attention of the party and state leaders,and Derung is the forefront of the implementation of the western frontier minority assistance policy and the focus of Yunnan province's poverty relief.Especially “the whole village to promote the whole minority to help” has achieved remarkable results during the 12 th five-year plan period,praised by the media as “Dulong jiang Model”.With the implementation of “the whole village to promote the whole minority to help”,Dulong River township built some new buildings,have 4G network and new road.It rapidly realized an industrial restructuring and a huge economic growth,peasants' incomes and living standards have been greatly improved.The closed mountainous areas along the border,with poor infrastructure construction and low social development,have been promptly stepped into the modern society with tremendous changes.However,for a small closed society,the driving force behind the historical changes lies not only in the style of life,but also in the culture and concept by a broader meaning.With the strategy of precise poverty relief and continuous modernization,the knowledge and the values of Derung has been changed in the collision of traditional ideas and modernization.People here are experiencing the process of modern adaptation from old style to new modernization way.The situation of maladjustment was manifested through some specific social issues and polarized social stratification.This is an inevitable issue in their rapid growth towards modernization in the poor areas of ethnic groups.The change of material affects the efforts comprehensively,coordinate and maximize the effectiveness of various support policies.Based on the characteristics of the Derung population with few populations and inhabitants,under the strong investment and support of the country,the construction and implementation of the poverty relief policies of the Dulong River township are highly controllable and typical.With the further improvement of accurate poverty alleviation in the future,through the support of agriculture,tourism,culture,intelligence,and ambitions,we will be able to build Dulong River township from the original “secret environment” of the past into a rich,civilized,and harmonious modern beautiful village,accomplishes the “China experience” of poverty relief.
