Research On Socialization Of Offenders’ Ideological Education

The socialization of offender ideological education is the subordinate concept of the socialization of offender education.It takes the theory of human socialization as guidance and implements the principle of socialization in the process of offender ideological education.By means of forming socialized teaching teams,implementing the socialized teaching contents and methods,improving the socialization of teaching establishments,and other measures,it ensures that offenders are kept in touch with the communities as much as possible to prevent them from being too detached from social development,and prompts offenders to master the necessary survival and living skills in order for them to facilitate the successful return to society,reduce socialized barriers and eventually become law-abiding citizens.The socialization of offender ideological education is a complete system,which includes the target orientations,the main participants,the educational contents,the implementation methods and the evaluation mechanisms guided by the purpose of criminals,return to society.In our country,the socialization of offender ideological education has a solid theoretical foundation,which can be supported by Marxism theory,philosophy of law,ideological and political education theory,criminal psychology,criminal law theory and human rights jurisprudence.The ideal status of the socialization of offender ideological education can be summed up in six aspects.First,the correct basic principles must be adhered to.Secondly,necessary awareness must be available.At the national level,a rationalist view of crime,the concepts of scientific crime control and modern execution should be established.At the non-governmental level,it is necessary to have a correct view of crime,a clear thinking of the rule of law,a tolerant humanistic spirit and social connectionism concepts.The third is to build the corresponding organizational management mechanisms,including the leadership mechanism,management mechanism,implementation mechanism,coordination mechanism,evaluation mechanism and supervision mechanism to meet the needs of the socialized education.The fourth is to use a wide range of social education forces effectively,such as universities,research institutes,hospitals,counseling agencies,social training and education institutions,community correction volunteers and other organizational or individual education resources.Fifthly,it is necessary to scientifically design the educational contents conducive to the return of criminals to society,involving value concepts,human feelings,traditional culture,various aspects of knowledge and skills,etc.The sixth is to flexibly use educational methods conducive to accelerating the process of socialization of offender ideological education.Although a lot of work has been done in the practice of the socialization of offe nder ideological education in our country,there are still many problems and obstacles compared with the ideal state.For example,the socialization of offender ideological e ducation has not gotten proper attention conceptually,the necessary legal basis lacks,t he organizational management mechanisms required for the socialization of offender id eological education are still relatively weak,the educational contents lack a targeted d esign,the educational methods are relatively mechanical and lack necessary flexibility,there is a great shortage of teachers,funds and other resources that support the sociali zation of offender ideological education.To improve the effect of socialization of offe nder ideological education in our country,it is necessary to change the traditional con ception of offender ideological education in various ways,improve the criminal executi on legal system such as "Prison Law",optimize the organizational management mecha nisms of offender ideological education,scientifically integrate idea concepts,cultures,knowledge and skills needed for the criminals’ return to society to educational content s.constantly explore and practice more effective educational paths,processes,and tool s,increase funding supports and strengthen the material security system.The scientific theory of socialization of offender ideological education is not only of great significance for the criminal education,but also has certain promotion value for general education,general ideological and political education,ideological and political education for special groups such as teenagers who have not reached the age of criminal responsibility and drug addicts.
