The post-modern characteristics influence many fields such as society,culture,etc.They also bring about the changes of multi-values and anti-tradition judgement towards beauty.The impact of post-modern which combines with visual representation in the image era is a great obstacle for the reading of visual information for audiences.The degree of explanation of the relationship of signifier and signified by audiences has become weaker.Audiences have difficulties in reading visual representation and the information conveyed by images.Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the impact of post-modern on the audiences' visual literacy and conduct the research on promoting audiences'visual literacy.The paper directs the research in the form of curriculum and based on the objective of cultivating audiences' visual literacy.The focus is the construction of theoretical framework and development and design of practical model for visual literacy curriculum,which is based on the analysis of the form and content of current visual literacy curriculum and the two aspects of post-modern perspectives on curriculum.The paper uses the methods of literature review and survey study to analyze the domestic and forengn literature,participate in the process of curriculum development and design,and communicate with the instrcutors and designers of these curriculum.Firstly,in the aspect of curriculum reflection,rethink the ontology,epistemology,axiology,and practice of the curriculum of visual literacy and confirm the theory foundation of philosophy,psychology and communication based on the answers to these questions:whether the curriculum can exist,why it exists,what its existing value is,and what ways of its existing.Secondly,in the aspect of reconstruction of ideas,pay attention to the impact of the post-modern context on the visual literacy curriculum.Reflect the post-modern perspectives on curriculum and give new explanations from the views of "based on the process of curriculum development" and "based on the communication method".Construct the perspectives of visual literacy curriculum in the post-modern context based on the analysis of the diachronic and synchronic study on the visual literacy curriculum.Thirdly,in the aspect of "curriculum construction",based on the Ralph W.Tyler's model of curriculum development,constrcute the visual literacy curriculum framework in the post-modern context.Combining the impact of postmodernism,the characteristics of visual representation,and the connotation of visual literacy,state the five characteristics of nature of the curriculum,visuality,practicalness,humanity,criticalness,and creativity.The confirmation of its objectives is based on the category of curriculum objectives.The objectives of visual literacy curriculum can be classified into the fields of cognition and emotion.The curriculum contents imply interdisciplinary characteristics of "rhizome theory" and the "hierarchy" connotation of visual literacy.The implementation of visual literacy curriculum emphasizes the external advance and strategies facing to different stages of audiences and internal instructional strategies for classroom.The evaluation of curriculum focuses on multiple subjects and objects,and methods and strategies to prove the reflection and transformation.Finally,the research turns to the field of practice.From the views of curriculum development and communication methods,combining the domestic and foreign cases of visual literacy curriculum,conduct the study on the practice and exploration,and communication and sharing.For the development and design of visual literacy face-to-face curriculum,construct audience-centered model of visual literacy curriculum development and the ecosphere model for the classroom teaching.For the online visual literacy curriculum development,propose the model for online curriculum development based on several cases.
