Rowers' Specific Perceptual Motor Skill refers to the rowers' ability of making rapid and accurate judgment and decision based on the important perceptual clues which rowers acquire in long term training and competition.Planty of researches show it is of great importance in improving rowers' motor skill level.Perceptual motor skill plays an important part in enhancing rowers'performance, and it is also an important index to evaluate excellent rower. While the previous scholars have done a limited number of studies from the perspective of psychology in China. When Chinese rowers' physical situation and training equipment is approaching to the world-top level, their psychological abilities, especially Rowers' Specific Perceptual Motor Skill, become the restriction for the rapid development of China's rowing. The present study intends to discuss Rower's Specific Perceptual Motor Skill, and it should be with important theoretical and practical value, enrich the theoretical research and Provide important reference for training. Therefore, based on the grounded theory in qualitative research paradigm, the present study the conception and structure of Rowers' Specific Perceptual Motor skill, the questionnaire designed in the present study was used in the research and analysis of the features of Rowers' Specific Perceptual Motor skill. The 464 participants from 10 different provinces and cities of China are representative in forms of region, size of team and technical level. What's more, based on information-processing theory, the study intends to have a discussion on the impact mechanism of goal orientation towards Rower's Specific Perceptual Motor Skill.Main Findings and Conclusions:(1)The study has constructed the internal structure of Rowers' Specific Perceptual Motor Skill(SPMS),which is composed of three primary-dimensions(Self-state SPMS,Boat-state SPMS,Oar-state SPMS)and ten secondary-dimensions(self-physical status, self force, boat balance, boat sound, sliding seat movement state, boat velocity, stroke effect, oar force, tempo and rowing action).(2)Based on the qualitative research and considering the features of rowing,a questionnaire on China Rowers' Specific Perceptual Motor Skill is designed in this paper,a total of 34 items. The questionnaire is of high validity and reliability, thus,it can be widely applied in sports teams.(3)Findings in using self-designed questionnaire:Among the ten secondary-dimensions,Chinese Rowers got the highest score in Perceptual Motor Skills of self-physical status and the lowest score in Perceptual Motor Skill of Boat Sound.Different levels of rowers showed similar difference in the three primary-dimensional degrees.Within secondary-dimensions,self-physical status, self force, boat velocity, tempo and rowing action candistinguish master and first grade rowers.Training period at 9 years is a key time node in Rower's Specific Perceptual Motor Skill training.Rowers with Bachelor's degree or above tend to get higher score than those with senior high school diploma, and much higher than those with junior high school educational background or under.(4)Since goal orientation can positively predict Specific Perceptual Motor Skill, high goal orientation may help to enhance Rowers' Specific Perceptual Motor Skill. It may produce an effect on Specific Perceptual Motor Skill through the involvement of athletes. In other words, establishing appropriate goal orientation contributes to the deepening of the athletes' involvement,so as to improve their Specific Perceptual Motor Skill. The mediation model constructed in this study well-explained the Specific Perceptual Motor Skill.Providing theoretical basis for future exploration,it also has instructive effect on practical training of Rowers' Specific Perceptual Motor Skill.
