Career Success is not only affected by individual factors,but also organizational factors.As far as individual factors are concerned,spirituality and appearance are both important characterizes on implicit and explicit.Although the impact of Facial Attractiveness on Career Success as an explicit trait has attracted wide attention of scholars,the relevant conclusions are controversial.Spiritual Intelligence as the implicit trait is the significant factor of the research on caring,education,management,but the scale that is suitable for the Chinese context has not been found.As far as organizational factors are concerned,organizations will intervene in employee career success through organizational career management,since personal career success will eventually translate into organizational success.Therefore,the Spiritual Intelligence model in the context of Chinese culture is developed and the spiritual intelligence scale is built combined with deduction and induction based on the “Meaning of Life” as the main line.Secondly,this paper explores the influence mechanism of employee's professional image(Spiritual Intelligence and Facial Atractiveness)on Career Success(Career Satisfaction,Internal Marketability,and External Marketability)and examines the role of Core Self-evaluation and Organizational Career Management.This paper studies the direct effects and interaction between Spiritual Intelligence and Facial Attractiveness of different genders on Career Success and the two-way parallel cross-path of impact.This research consists of four studies.In the study 1,the question about “how to make the Chinese people's life long-term and broad” has been answered from the perspective of deconstruction of Chinese spirituality,and a theoretical model of Spiritual Intelligence in Chinese context including three dimensions: Identification of Meaning,Connection of Meaning and Realization of Meaning has been put forward.Study 2 first attempts to develop a spiritual intelligence scale that is suitable for the Chinese context through the generation of items,the production and initial validation of the scale,and exploration of the structure of Chinese Spiritual Intelligence.Second,this study examines whether the structure is compatible with the Chinese context and the internal consistency of the subscales.Third,this study compares the structures of the Spiritual Intelligence between the West and China.According to the above two studies,this paper puts forward an initial validates the three-factor model of Spiritual Intelligence in the context of China.Compared with the existing research of West,it has both similarities and differences,reflecting the "Unique spiritual world of the Chinese ".At the same time,the developed Spiritual Intelligence scale,which contains 13 items,shows good reliability and validity.These two studies answer the question of "What is Spiritual Intelligence in the Chinese context?",which is useful to enrich and improve the theory of Spiritual Intelligence and Multiple Intelligence.The Spiritual Intelligence scale developed is advantageous to further relevant research.In the study 3,this paper explores the way how the Spiritua Intelligence impact Career Success,and tests the reliability and validity of Spiritual Intelligence scale,and moderation of cross-level of Organizational Career Management based on the Career Construction Theory according to the paired data in two rounds.In the study4,evaluation results of Face Attractiveness are obtained objectively at first.Then this paper explores how the Spiritual Intelligence and Face Attractiveness affect Career Success,and found the two-channel parallel cross-path of influence of Spiritual Intelligence and Face Attractiveness of different gender employeesAccording to the two studies,the path of career development is analyzed from the perspective of employees themselves,and an integrated model of the impact of Spiritual Intelligence and Face Attractiveness on Career Success is proposed.At the same time,the role of Organizational Career Management on employees' career success is discussed from the perspective of organization and individual.It is found that Organizational Career Management can moderate the relationship between Spiritual Intelligence and Career Satisfaction cross-level.Moreover,employees with different characteristics have different perceptions of Organizational Career Management.There is the phenomenon of “lookism” among the different gender employees.These two studies answer the question of “How the Spiritual Intelligence and Face Attractiveness impact the career success?”.It is not only the useful supplement to the theory of career management and career success,but also provides theoretical support for the selection,training,and motivation of employees.Finally,the effects of Spiritual Intelligence and Facial Attractiveness on Career Satisfaction,Internal Marketability and External Marketability are discussed respectively based on the summarizing the four studies.The theoretical and practical contributions of these studies are put forward,and the limitations and future research are noted.
