The financial crisis in 2008 made the world pay more attention to the important role of manufacturing industry in the national economic system.With the developed countries reflecting on the mistakes of choosing de-industrialization strategy,the national strategy of revitalizing manufacturing industry has been introduced.On the one hand,the implementation of re-industrialization strategy in developed countries can not only bring more competitive pressure to China's high-end equipment manufacturing industry,but also squeeze the market of the superior products of manufacturing industry in China.On the other hand,with the rise of factor costs and the gradual disappearance of population dividends,the low-cost advantage of China's manufacturing industry has been gradually reduced.Developing countries such as Southeast Asia have attracted more and more foreign-funded enterprises because of the relatively low labor costs and the continuous improvement of infrastructure.Therefore,China's manufacturing industry is facing on the two-way squeeze which is the "reflux" of high-end manufacturing industry in developed countries and"diversion" of low-end manufacturing industry in developing countries.The key to solve the two-way extrusion in manufacturing industry of China lies in accelerating the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry,improving quality and efficiency,and taking the high-end,new pattern and intelligent road.The rapid development of the new industrial revolution and information network technology has had a far-reaching impact on manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading in China since the new century.However,few papers have analyzed how information network technology affects manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading under the background of the new industrial revolution.We systematically analyze the dynamic mechanism of manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading from two aspects:firstly,information network technology directly affects the output of manufacturers;secondly,information network technology indirectly affects manufacturer's output by influencing consumer behavior.We analyze the dynamic mechanism of information network(?)chnology to promote manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading in the first aspect in Chapters 4,5 and 6 and in second aspect in Chapter 7.From the first aspect,capital,labor and TFP are the three main factors that affect output according to Solow Model.Therefore,we analyze how the information network technology promotes manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading by influencing capital,labor and TFP.Specific information is as follows.Firstly,information network technology can promote manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading by influencing per capita capital.Information network technology can enhance the accumulation of human capital,improve the effective labor supply and reduce the ratio of capital to effective labor.As the elasticity of capital output in labor intensive manufacturing industry is smaller than that in capital and technology intensive manufacturing industry,so information network technology can promote manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading by reducing per capita capital.Secondly,information network technology can promote manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading by influencing human capital.We analyze the dynamic mechanism from two aspects:the differences of employment preference and the transition of labor structure.On the one hand,the nonlinearity of employment preference can affect the human capital externalities in labor intensive manufacturing industry and capital and technology intensive manufacturing industry,the elasticity of effective labor supply in labor intensive manufacturing industry is smaller than that of effective labor supply in capital and technology intensive manufacturing industry;with the information network technology accelerating the accumulation of human capital,highly skilled labor will flow from agriculture and labor intensive manufacturing industry to capital and technology intensive manufacturing industry,which promotes manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading ultimately.On the other hand,it further proves that the improvement of labor quality is the key factor to promote manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading.Thirdly,information network technology can promote manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading by influencing knowledge innovation.The relative changes in the impact of information technology on TFP of capital and technology intensive enterprises and labor intensive enterprise is the motivation for China's manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading,Information network technology is more conducive to promoting knowledge innovation in R&D Department of capital and technology intensive manufacturing enterprises,which promotes manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading.From the second aspect,we find that the information network technology increases consumption externality from two ways:information network technology enhances the relationship between consumers in different regions;meanwhile,it reduces the concerns of disadvantaged group of information about the quality of new products.Therefore,information network technology can promote manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading by changing the ratio of consumption externality between labor intensive manufacturing products and capital and technology intensive manufacturing products.Besides,we also analyze the impact of consumer's flexibility in choosing goods on manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading,theoretical analysis shows that compared with consumer externality,consumer's flexibility in choosing goods has negligible effect on manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading in Chapter 7.As a whole,four main dynamic mechanisms that information network technology promotes manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading are discussed in this paper:the reduction of per capita capital,the accumulation of human capital,the knowledge innovation and the enhancement of consumption externality.The main innovations of this paper are as follows:Firstly,compared with the urgency in reality,there is a lack of articles to analyze the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry from the perspective of information network technology,the paper will make up for this deficiency.Secondly,the theoretical literature on manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading has traditionally been interested in the impact of the number of labor,ignoring the important impact of labor quality.This paper uses effective labor to measure labor input,abandons the hypothesis of homogeneity of labor,and puts forward policy recommendations from the perspective of talent dividend.Thirdly,there is the government in our model,which accords with the reality of China,the Chinese Government plays an important role in the process of manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading by influencing the flow of labor and capital.Finally,this paper emphasizes the social attributes of information network technology and expand the research on the impact of consumer behavior on manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading based on consumer behavior.
