How to establish competitive advantage for new ventures under the background of new disadvantages and high uncertainty is an important topic that scholars are now discussing.Based on the knowledge-based view,dynamic capability theory and competitive advantage theory,this study constructs the path model of the theoretical relationship between knowledge sharing,dynamic capability and competitive advantage of new ventures,and uses six cases in Haikou,Shenzhen to further verify and revise the model.On this basis,we put forward five kinds of hypotheses(including 20 sub-hypotheses)through systematic theoretical analysis and logical deduction.Subsequently,based on the in-depth empirical analysis of 246 valid questionnaires from Guangzhou,Shenzhen,Zhuhai,Dongguan,Haikou,Sanya and other cities,the relevant hypotheses are verified,and it is found that most of the hypotheses are supported by data.The empirical analysis results also confirm the theoretical model we proposed.Through systematic analysis and empirical test,this study draws the following four main conclusions.(1)Knowledge sharing is an important basis for new ventures to gain competitive advantage.Empirical research shows that knowledge sharing can be divided into two dimensions: explicit knowledge sharing and tacit knowledge sharing,which have positive effects on the competitive advantage of new ventures.The results of this study well confirm that the knowledge-based view and knowledge management theory emphasize that knowledge as a special kind of assets,effective sharing and dissemination of knowledge will play a positive role in promoting the competitive advantage of new ventures.(2)Dynamic capability actively promotes the establishment of new ventures' competitive advantage.As the core competence that is difficult to be imitated,dynamic capability is the key capability for new ventures to cope with internal and external changing environment and reconfigure internal resources.The empirical results of this study show that the three dimensions of dynamic capabilities,absorptive capacity,adaptive capacity and innovation capacity,all actively enhance the competitive advantage of new ventures.The conclusion of this paper also echoes the theory of dynamic capability in the field of strategic management.New ventures should actively build dynamic capability in order to better cope with external competition and establish advantages..(3)Knowledge sharing plays an active role in promoting the construction of dynamic capabilities of new venture.Knowledge resources are the important foundation for building dynamic capabilities,and knowledge sharing can act on dynamic capabilities by improving the depth and breadth of knowledge.The empirical study shows that both explicit knowledge sharing and tacit knowledge sharing can actively improve the dynamic capabilities of new venture.The results of this study provide theoretical support for new venture to continuously build dynamic capabilities.(4)Dynamic capability is the key path for knowledge sharing to influence the competitive advantage of new venture.We find that knowledge sharing not only directly affects the establishment of competitive advantage of new venture,but also indirectly affects competitive advantage through dynamic capability,that is,dynamic capability is an important path for knowledge sharing to affect competitive advantage.The results not only confirm the intermediary effect of dynamic capability between knowledge sharing and competitive advantage,but also further deepen the existing knowledge management theory,and find that the dynamic capability perspective can explain the mechanism of knowledge sharing on the competitive advantage of new venture.This study focuses on the relationship between knowledge sharing,dynamic capabilities and competitive advantages of new venture,which makes up for the shortcomings of existing theoretical research,and reflects higher innovation and better theoretical value.Specific theoretical contributions are embodied in the following four aspects:(1)Based on the characteristics of new venture,this paper discusses the concept of knowledge sharing and divides it into two dimensions: explicit knowledgesharing and tacit knowledge sharing.It is an important issue in the field of knowledge management to reveal the characteristics of knowledge sharing in new venture.Existing knowledge management research mainly focuses on knowledge acquisition,while knowledge sharing,as one of the core links and important issues of knowledge management,is relatively inadequate.A small number of existing studies also focus on mature enterprises rather than new ones.The Conceptual Refinement and dimension analysis of knowledge sharing in new venture in this study will help to make up for the deficiencies of existing knowledge management research.(2)From the perspective of knowledge sharing,this paper analyses how new venture acquire and establish competitive advantages.New venture are confronted with more uncertainties.How to gain competitive advantage has always been a problem for entrepreneurs of new venture.The existing research is mainly based on resource base and strategic choice,but for new venture which lack resources and are difficult to make use of fixed strategy,neither of them can bring sustainable competitive advantage.Based on this,this study proposes that new venture acquire sustained competitive advantage by actively promoting knowledge sharing,which makes up for the shortage of existing theoretical research on competitive advantage.(3)The intermediary effect of dynamic capability between knowledge sharing and competitive advantage of new venture is put forward,and the path model of knowledge sharing on competitive advantage of new venture is established.The mechanism of knowledge sharing on competitive advantage of new venture is deeply revealed through a large-scale questionnaire survey.Previous studies have paid little attention to how knowledge sharing affects new venture.This study proposes that new venture will enhance their dynamic capabilities in the process of knowledge sharing,and then affect their competitive advantages,so as to guide new venture in knowledge sharing,while focusing on the construction of dynamic capabilities to better obtain competitive advantages.(4)This paper probes into the situational factors influencing the relationship between knowledge sharing and the competitive advantage of new venture,and reveals the regulating role of collectivism culture.Previous studies have paid moreattention to the influence factors of knowledge sharing or the direct effect of knowledge sharing on competitive advantage,ignoring the role of collectivist culture reflecting the characteristics of entrepreneurial environment in China's transitional economy in this process.Based on this,this study reveals the situational role of collectivism culture between knowledge sharing and competitive advantage,which makes up for the shortcomings of existing theoretical research.Based on knowledge management theory and dynamic capability theory,this paper explores how new venture can build dynamic capabilities through effective knowledge sharing to achieve competitive advantage enhancement,which is also of great significance for entrepreneurship practice.Firstly,knowledge sharing is a magic weapon for new venture to overcome their new disadvantages by using knowledge resources.The founders or managers of new venture should fully encourage knowledge sharing,establish common trust and vision to break the knowledge monopoly and differences between the main bodies,and promote a mutually beneficial knowledge sharing atmosphere,so as to overcome the "new disadvantages" and form competitive advantages.Secondly,new venture should pay attention to the construction of dynamic capabilities,in order to make efficient use of knowledge sharing behavior to establish a sustainable competitive advantage.Dynamic capability embodies the ability of organizations to reconstruct resources and capabilities to cope with changes in the external environment.It is the core capability that enterprises can not be imitated.Therefore,the construction of dynamic capabilities,including absorptive capacity,adaptability and innovation capacity,is very important for new venture in high uncertainty.Explicit knowledge sharing and tacit knowledge sharing are processes in which organizational knowledge is continuously accumulated and updated.Whether the richness of knowledge or the depth of knowledge is enhanced with the effective sharing of knowledge within the organization.This lays a foundation for new venture to build dynamic capabilities.To sum up,new venture should look to the future,from a long-term perspective,establish dynamic capabilities within the organization,and then help new venture toestablish industry competitive position and market advantage.
