In the current competitive market,countries,industries,and enterprises all place higher demands on innovation.Exploring the reasons for the difference in innovation performance has always been an important research topic.The history of the company has a long-term impact on the development.As an important source of organization imprint,the founder has a continuous impact on the establishment of enterprises in and after the establishment period.This influence of the founder is achieved by forming an organization imprint.In practice,the influence of enterprise history and founders plays an important role in innovation activities.Therefore,from the founder's perspective,organization imprint is in line with the deep requirements of organizational innovation management,In theory,there is less research on explaining the differences in organizational innovation activities from a historical perspective and opening the role of organization imprints on innovation performance.In view of the shortcomings of the existing research,this thesis deeply analyzes the mediating mechanism of organization imprint affecting innovation performance through ambidextrous learning,which has very important theoretical and practical significance.Based on the above background,this paper first combs the relevant theories of organization imprint,ambidextrous learning and inn ovation performance;Secondly,on the basis of defining the concepts of organization imprint,creative cognitive imprint,analytical cognitive imprint,centralized structural imprint,formalized structural imprint,innovation cultural imprint,supportive cultural imprint,bureaucratic cultural imprint,internal social capital imprint,external social capital imprint,ambidextrous learning,and innovation performance,establishes a theoretical model and puts forward research hypotheses;Finally,it obtains the enterprise data through investigation and applies the data to test empirically the theoretical model and assumptions by the linear regression.Compared with similar research,the innovation of the paper is mainly reflected in:(1)From the perspective of the founder,it explores the source of organization imprint,defines the connotation of different dimensions of organization imprint,develops an effective organization imprint scale,and empirically studies the impact of organization imprint on innovation performance.First,this study examines the organization imprint from the perspective of the founder and reveals the important role of the founder in the formation of organization imprints.Secondly,it reveals the formation process of the various organization imprint formed by the founder and defines its connotation.Thirdly,based on the conceptual connotation of organization imprint,cognition,structure,culture and social capital,and based on the established maturity scale of relevant research,it develops and designs the organization imprint measurement scale.The empirical test results show that the indicators of the scale are validity.Finally,empirically it examines the different dimensions of organization imprint that affect innovation performance.This paper deeply interprets and elaborates the formation and function process of organization imprint from the perspective of founders,which helps to further refine the connotation of core concepts,explores specific mechanisms of action,and improves the research framework of organization imprint theory.This article focuses on the organization imprint formed by the founders,and starting from the historical dimension,it researchs how to interpret organizational behavior.It provids a new perspective for organizational management research.The definition of the core concept and the development of the scale have a great theoretical support and reference value for the follow-up empirical research,and which provides the possibility for the research of the deeper organization imprint in the field of management.(2)This paper explains the mechanism that the organization imprint influences on the ambidextrous learning.The intrinsic characteristics of organization imprint affect the direction,speed and degree of organizational learning,so as to ensure that the arrangements for learning strategies can persist in the early stage of organization.Organizational learning is one of the important areas in which organization imprints play a role.Organization imprints are an important explanatory variable for organizational learning.The organization imprint continues to influence the learning activities of the company.The initial conditions of the company,especially the founders,continue to have an impact on their structure,strategy or operational practices.In the process of adapting to the target and feedback performance,the enterprise reconfigures and discards the imprinting elements,and enlarges and converts the organization imprint.Organization imprints significantly influence the knowledge orientation that emerges after companies embracing and integrating new knowledge.Organization imprints can engrave the knowledge set of a new venture,help companies form knowledge in specific business areas,and help companies successfully transforming their knowledge systems.In the organization management process,the organization applies the knowledge acquired from history to the learning activities,and the knowledge is stored in the organizational memory to determine the expression of organizational learning.The research shows that the organization imprint can explain the selection process of learning style,help to find the root of organizational learning behavior from the history of the organization,and provide reference for the organization to formulate learning strategies.(3)This paper clarifies the intermediary effect of ambidextrous learning in the relationship between organization imprint and innovation performance,and opens the role of "black box"for the influence of organization imprint on innovation performance.Following the research logic of "imprint-learning-performance",based on the integration model of the relationship among organization imprint,ambidextrous learning and innovation performance,this paper verifies the mediating role of binary learning in the role of organizational imprints in influencing innovation performance.When reviewing the research literature about organization imprint,it finds that there is no consensus on how the organization imprint affects the mechanism of enterprise innovation and the historical motivation of enterprise innovation.This is a clear theoretical gap,and it is urgent to integrate a new theoretical framework to analyze and explain these issues.Based on the integration model of the three key elements of organization imprint,ambidextrous learning and innovation performance,this study explores the interaction and internal mechanism between these elements,which helps to deepen the understanding of the process of organization imprint,analyze the specific path of organization imprinting to influence innovation performance through ambidextrous learning,and provide theoretical guidance for the organization to carry out innovation work.(4)This study enriches the way and the implementation mechanism of the founders influencing the organization,which provids a new perspective for the future research of founders,entrepreneurship and innovation theory.How the founders influence the behavior of new organizations is an important topic in entrepreneurial research.Entrepreneurial research has accumulated a lot of research results in the characteristics and behaviors of the founders or entrepreneurial teams.As an important factor in the history of the organization,the founders are able to form an organization imprint which contributes to innovation performance through ambidextrous learning.According to the organization imprint,how does the founder influence the long-term development of the organization?This paper studies the organization imprint form the founder's perspective,emphasizes the important role played by the founder as an important imprinting source in the formation of organization imprints.This helps to reveal the process of the formation of organization imprints,and expands the specific forms and mechanisms of the founders' influence on the long-term development of the organization.It also provides new ideas for research in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation.
