Since the reform and opening-up,China's overall national strength has been rising, people's living standards have been greatly improved.remarkable economic and social achievements have been achieved. But during this period, the problem of the disparity between the rich and the poor in Chinese society is becoming more serious, and the problem of income inequality has gradually become a major problem that is besetting the sustainable development of China's social economy. As a dynamic perspective to measure income inequality, income mobility can reflect the problems of social class mobility and opportunity equity in the national economic and social development, and the study of income mobility from the micro level can help to analyze the income inequality problem in Chinese households more accurately. At the same time, the integration of the Internet and various industries continues to deep, deeply embedded in people's daily economic behavior and lifestyle,to provide micro-individuals with a broader platform and development opportunities, the popularity and use of the Internet to a certain extent enriched people's access to wealth and knowledge to achieve employment and income-generating possibilities, but because of the different individuals on the Internet use of the cognitive situation and the degree of use of differences,Internet use of individual opportunities to create and assign space will be different. Then,in the context of the country's current vigorous promotion of The Internet development strategy, whether Internet use can play an active role in improving the income mobility of Chinese residents, its internal mechanism and its possible explanation are worthy of discussion and study of the issue.Based on this, this paper studies and analyzes the relationship between Internet usage and income mobility, including the following parts:(1)Measures the income mobility of intragenerational and intergenerational residents. For the measurement of intergenerational income liquidity,CFPS data(China family panel studies,CFPS)is used to describe the relative income mobility and absolute income mobility in terms of time sequence;for the measurement of intergenerational income mobility, analysis is made from the two levels of intergenerational income conversion matrix and intergenerational income elasticity. In addition, combined with the CHNS data(China Health and nutrition survey,CHNS),this paper analyzes the income mobility of intergenerational and intragenerational residents according to whether they use the Internet or not.The results show that:since 2010,with the increase of Internet penetration, the income mobility of Chinese residents within and between generations is on the rise. Moreover, compared with the residents who do not use the Internet, the residents who use the Internet have higher income mobility, indicating that Internet usage may have a positive role in promoting income mobility.(2)Construct the theoretical model of the impact of Internet usage on income mobility. This paper analyzes the influence mechanism of Internet usage on intra generation and intergeneration income mobility, and constructs a theoretical model between Internet and income mobility. For intergenerational income mobility, this paper analyzes the impact mechanism of Internet usage on intergenerational income mobility, decomposes the impact of Internet usage on intergenerational income mobility into direct effect and indirect effect, builds theoretical model based on persistent income hypothesis and Galton income mean model, and puts forward research hypothesis to be empirically tested;for intergenerational income mobility, this paper adopts Based on the analysis of the transmission path of Internet usage on intergenerational income mobility, this paper expounds its influence mechanism, builds a theoretical model to analyze the influence of Internet on intergenerational income mobility, and puts forward the research hypothesis to be empirically tested.(3)Empirical test the impact of Internet usage on intragenerational income mobility In this paper,we use CFPS data from China's household tracking survey, and use ordered probit model, bivariate ordered probit model, intermediary effect model, and propensity score matching(PSM)to test the research hypothesis of intergenerational income flow, and conduct heterogeneity and robustness analysis. The results show that,in terms of income flow,Internet usage can effectively promote personal income mobility and inhibit income downward mobility. The higher the frequency of using Internet to study, work and socialize, the higher the residents' awareness of the importance of Internet usage,it is more helpful for individuals to realize the upward mobility of income. There are both direct and indirect effects of Internet on intrageneration income mobility.Internet can promote income mobility through its direct effect and indirect effect of human capital, social capital and employment. In human capital as an intermediary variable, the intermediary effect of education accounts for 35.09%,the intermediary effect of health accounts for 18.52%,and the intermediary effect of training is not supported. In the social capital as an intermediary variable, the intermediary effect of social network accounts for 19.24%,and the intermediary effect of trust relationship and social norms is not supported.Employment as an intermediary variable accounted for 15.79%.The influence of Internet on intra generation income mobility is heterogeneous, and there are differences in gender, region, urban and rural areas;(4)Empirical test of the impact of Internet usage on intergenerational income mobility. This paper uses CFPS data from China's household follow-up survey to test the hypothesis of intergenerational income flow using disordered multiple logit model,Bowles&Gintis decomposition method and quantile regression.Internet usage, the increasing frequency of Internet usage, and the awareness of the importance of Internet usage have a significant regulatory effect on intergenerational income elasticity, and promote the upward mobility of intergenerational income class. The study found that human capital contributed 35.9%of the intergenerational income correlation, and education contributed 18.04%of the intergenerational income correlation.Social capital contributes 10.94%of intergenerational income correlation, among which strong relationship contributes 4.32%and weak relationship contributes 6.62%.Employment contributes 0.07%of intergenerational income correlation. It is found that the usage of Internet can weaken the effect of the father's income on the children's human capital and social capital through the education and training of human capital, strong and weak relationship,so as to regulate the income flow and promote the improvement of income flow. The influence of Internet use on different groups is different, and the regulating effect on different income groups is "U-shaped".The main innovations of this paper are as follows:the first, from the perspective of dynamic income inequality income mobility, this paper studies the relationship between Internet use and income mobility from two dimensions of intragenerational and intergenerational income mobility, enriching and deepening the relevant research on income distribution by Internet;the second,it analyzes the impact of Internet usage on intragenerational and intergenerational income mobility The mechanism of income mobility, based on the persistent income hypothesis and the gelton model, constructs a theoretical model of Internet usage affecting intra-generational income mobility;Based on the research of Becker and Tomas(1986),the paper constructs a theoretical model of Internet usage affecting intergenerational income mobility, which complements the relevant theoretical research;the third,it conducts empirical research from three aspects:the direct situation of Internet usage,Internet usage frequency and the importance of Internet use, which is more comprehensive than other scholars' analysis of Internet usage on income mobility At the same time,we use ordered probit model, disordered multi class logit regression model, intermediary effect model,Bowles&Gitis decomposition method, quantile regression, propensity matching method for empirical test, heterogeneity and robustness analysis.
