Innovation has often been associated with competitiveness and business success. However, not all organizations engage in innovation. Determining the elements that contribute to creating and sustaining innovative organizations may provide insight for others seeking ways to add to their success. This study focuses on factors associated with the four components of innovative management, innovative organization context, innovative visionary leadership, and innovative risk tolerance. These components and their associated factors were examined and evaluated based on a review of companies that have received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. A model was developed that may help researchers explore innovative activities in various organizations. Additionally, the findings offer a list of practices and actions that may help practitioners improve the innovation within their organization. |
