Perceptions of tourists' attractions and satisfaction levels toward marine leisure sports in Kenting, Taiwan

Abstract/Summary:
The research was conducted to investigate tourist perceptions satisfaction level factors of participants who were engaged in marine leisure sports at Kenting Scenic National Park, Taiwan. A survey was conducted with the subjects chosen from participants engaging marine leisure sports at Kenting beach, Taiwan. The convenience sampling method was utilized for this study with 600 valid questionnaire responses received. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way MANOVA, simple correlation, and structural equation modeling. The findings of this study were as follows:;(1) The questionnaire used in this study was a reliable and valid instrument. (2) The results indicated that marine leisure sports participants have varying demographic characteristics and often had different satisfaction levels relating to the corresponding research questions. (3) The marine leisure sport participants with varying demographic characteristics indicated significantly different participation satisfaction levels, yet there were no differences in their participation satisfaction levels. (4) There were significant differences between age groups participating in marine leisure sports in all attraction factors. (5) There were significant differences between education level groups to the marine leisure sports in all attraction factors. (6) There were significant differences between occupation groups to marine leisure sports in all attraction factors. (7) There were significant differences between income groups of marine leisure sports participants in all attraction factors. (8) There were significant differences between nationality groups of marine leisure sports in all attraction factors. (9) The influence degrees of the tourist attraction factors as they related to the sport environment, mental acknowledgements, and sport marketing were statistically significant. (10) The influences degrees of the tourist satisfaction levels as they related to the site convenience, safety guide, leisure service, and operational environment were statistically significant. (11) There is no relationship between the tourist satisfaction level factors relating to marine leisure sports. But, in the each factor, there were higher relationships between each dimension.
