Technology is changing the way people communicate and interact with one another, and mobile technology is enormous part of this conundrum. The business world has contributed immensely to the success of mobile devices and these contributions are beginning to move into the educational environment which has experienced a range of effects of mobile and portable technology. Many cutting edge colleges are already utilizing wireless portals to help students communicate and stay connected with each other, their school, and professors. Business managers as well as educational leaders must be aware of new and emerging technology in order to make the most informed and educated decisions facing their industry. This study focused on educational leaders and examined their views on portable technology as it relates to higher education. Are their schools using this type of technology now? How do they see this technology touching education in the future? How will portable technology affect teachers and students in the future? The research design is exploratory in nature, and intended to describe and analyze some of the complexities associated with a specific segment of the educational environment in Ohio. Specifically, ascertaining educational leader's attitudes about portable technology and how they might best be used in the future.
