Abstract/Summary:
The Navy College Program for Afloat College Education (NCPACE) provides higher education with traditional pedagogical alternatives to active-duty sailors not assigned to shore-based commands. For nearly 3 decades, NCPACE has been providing college education to sailors utilizing 2 modes of instruction: instructor-delivery or technology-delivery.; Unfortunately, only 5 NCPACE studies have examined effectiveness data since inception of NCPACE; only 3 were related to this study involving student achievement. This quantitative research utilized a combination of descriptive and inferential analysis to examine differences in student performance.; The conclusions of this study have validated previous studies in student performance and have reevaluated differences between modes of instruction, between junior and senior sailors, between course categories, instructional venues, occupational fields, and academic year groups.
