Research On Ideological And Political Education Of College Students Volunteer Activities To Support Education In West Realized

In August2004, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the state council promulgated No.16documentation,"the Suggestion on Strengthening and Improving the Ideological and Political Education of College Students". It points out that," Social practice is an important part in the ideological and political education of college students. It plays an irreplaceable role in impelling the students to understand our society, understand the national conditions, enhance their individual competency, contribute to our society, build their willpower, cultivate their character and enhance the sense of social responsibility. So it is necessary to establish a social security system for college students and explore the long-term mechanism of practice education. We should lead the college students to go out of school, to go into the basic level, and to learn from the workers and peasants."The students’ volunteer activities enrich the carrier of Ideological and political education, broaden the way of Ideological and political education, and it is of great significance to strengthen ideological and political education of College students.The paper is about the support education program of college volunteers in Western China. Of all the Youth Volunteer activities in our country, it is a relatively mature project of rapid development. It is of great value in promoting the development of education and other undertakings in western impoverished areas, and enriching the ways for students to success. In this paper, from the social and personal point of view, it elaborates the value of Ideological and political education of this program. Based on my personal teaching experience and the detailed investigation of the volunteer activities, the paper analyses the problems and causes in the value realization of the support education program of college volunteers. Thus it puts forward several effective measures on how to realize the value of ideological and political education of this program, including the volunteers’own activity, the value realization carrier of ideological and political education of this program, the operating mechanism and social support.
