Abstract/Summary:
Project Demonstrating Excellence. This project demonstrating excellence is a creatively aesthetic expression of Buddhist psychology. It focuses on mind and the main theme is 'Jigs med gling pa's text, The Ocean Speech of Mindfulness Qualities which is translated from the original Tibetan into English. This is a Rnying ma pa text dealing from the Rdzogs chen point of view, which is the esoteric teaching of the ancient school of Tibetan Buddhism. It is certainly relevant to our present age as it deals with qualities of mind which are continuously pervading equally within all ages. The art which consists of photographs and poetic statement is woven between the history, philosophy and mindfulness teaching which are presented in four main divisions.;The Madhyamik is the second and is a concise translation of Acarya Bsod nams seng ge's book which is entitled The Illumination of the Meaning of General Madhyamik. This logically and systematically explains emptiness as the absolute truth which is only attained through the skillful means of method and great compassion for all beings. This is according to the Mahayana teaching. It teaches that one must reach out one's mind with the motivation of great compassion for all beings in order to attain Supreme Freedom of self and other. Then all perceptions can be free of suffering as Lord Buddha was Himself and as He taught.;The short Rnying ma pa history is the third sections and give a feeling of the cultural transition as well as historical facts. It introduces Vajrayana which is the swiftest vehicle to enlightenment. Vajrayana purifies self and other, using the passions and opening them into their pure wisdom; it transforms all experience into deity phenomena as Lord Buddha was Himself and as He taught.;These three sections lead to the main text of 'Jigs med gling pa's which is an instruction in Vajrayana. All have been creatively written with the intention to bring the human experience into this Great Ocean of Wisdom.;The first is Lord Buddha's life history, a light childlike version of His noble existence. It includes basic Hinayana teaching such as that cyclic existence inevitably leads to suffering and that by purifying oneself one can be freed from this suffering as Lord Buddha did Himself and as He taught.
