Abstract/Summary:
The topic of this dissertation is disability services and the perceptions of the student-facing staff that is either providing the disability accommodations or is recommending disability accommodations. The literature available suggests that there is very limited research available about the perceptions and resource needs of the student-facing staff supporting students who have a disability. The objective of understanding the student-facing staffs' perceptions of disability services is to improve the services and supports received and thus improve long term retention of students who have a disability. In this study's research, data was collected through qualitative interviews, review of various forms and documents available through the institution's website. From the data collected, findings and observations were made from coding of the data and suggestions for further support of student-facing staff supporting students who have a disability were inferred and discussed.
