Abstract/Summary:
Integration of spirituality and religion into the counseling process has received growing attention in recent years, and faith-based universities are committed to training counselors to be competent in practicing within a Christian worldview perspective. However, there is a dearth of literature elucidating the felt processes among counselors who work from a faith-informed perspective. Therefore, this qualitative study examined the lived experiences of 10 clinicians, working in a variety of settings, who were educated in Christian institutions. Six overarching themes and 18 subthemes emerged from the data, and they establish significant implications for integration in research, counselor practice, and education.
