With the development of global economy, market competition hasbecome increasingly fierce, which forces enterprises to have to face anew globalized environment. In order to survive and develop better,enterprises try to turn to M&A, which can improve business efficiency,increase the profits of enterprises, is regarded as one of the means todevelop fast. Therefore, the scale and frequency of M&A are increasing.Chinese enterprises have begun to play an important role in the wordM&A market with their influence growing. Chinese enterprises, however,have a short history relatively, and do not have enough experience. Theintegration management after M&A usually are not paid enoughattentions, which will affect the performance of enterprises and even leadto the failure of the M&A.With theory and case study, first the paper arranges and analyzes thetheories about core competencies, organizational integration, culturalintegration and human resource integration, then analyzes a case study:The Lenovo Group merged the PC business sector of IBM. In the casestudy, the paper analyzes how the Lenovo Group protected, transferredand improved its core competencies, and show some measures adopted inthe M&A, from which other enterprises could learn, and some details towhich managers should pay more attentions. The paper can has a certain role in promoting the theory of integration management, and also havesome significance for practices of M&A for Chinese enterprises.
