The lack of design capabilities has become an important factor restricting the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry.Modern design is based on knowledge.And due to the imperfect construction of various growth systems and the lack of internal design knowledge resources in the enterprise,designers have to seek external design knowledge resources and gain ability improvement by learning successful precedents.As an activity to present industry best practices,the industrial design award has become a comprehensive reference for designers and design practitioners,but its value as one kind of design knowledge resource has been ignored.This article regards winning proposals of the industrial design award as external design knowledge resources.This design knowledge is a kind of new knowledge that has the function of inspiration,guidance and reference and is higher than the industry standard.The research focuses on how design knowledge presented in objects in the award-winning scheme can transfer smoothly to designers and improve their design capabilities,thereby helping manufacturing design innovationThe main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The theoretical model of design knowledge flow in "good design"(DKF-GD model)is constructed from the perspective of flow elements and flow process.Academician Xie Youbai proposed four types of design knowledge flow in distributed resource environment:the flow of design knowledge within the leading design enterprise,between the enterprises with knowledge demand and the units providing knowledge resources,the knowledge flow within the units providing knowledge resources,and the flow of design knowledge that can still be learned and used without knowledge service.As the fourth kind of design knowledge flow in distributed resource environment,design knowledge in "good design" provides designers with design knowledge resources to support and supplement the first and third design knowledge flows.As a result,a theoretical model of design knowledge flow from the perspectives of flow elements and flow process is constructed in this thesis by studying the dynamic mechanism and characteristics of knowledge flow from its perspective.(2)According to the elements of DKF-GD model,the key influencing factors of design knowledge flow in "good design" are clarified through empirical research.Based on literature reviews and expert interviews,this thesis puts forward a theoretical hypothesis model from five aspects:the characteristics of knowledge provider,knowledge receiver,design knowledge,design knowledge flow channel and design knowledge flow environment.Through empirical research,the theoretical hypothesis is tested scientifically.358 valid questionnaires are collected by random sampling.The test results confirm the professionalism,objectivity and influence of design awards.The usefulness and compatibility of design knowledge in "good design",the willingness and absorptive capacity of designers,the effectiveness of mass communication channels,the effectiveness of interpersonal communication channels,the effectiveness of intermediary communication channels,organizational innovation atmosphere and local design culture level are the key influencing factors are confirmed.(3)According to the process of DKF-GD model,the evolution process of design knowledge is analyzed through qualitative research that clarifies the types of design knowledge that designers pay attention to are design scenario knowledge,design object knowledge and design normative knowledge.In order to clarify the effect of design knowledge acquired by designers for design ability,'one single factor in three level experiment' is designed.Experiments show that the design scenario knowledge in "good design" can help designers improve the degree of situational divergence and situational innovation in the stage of conceptual divergence,and the knowledge of design objects can improve the degree of innovation and detail expression of design modeling in the design stage.(4)The design and application process based on DKF-GD model is put forward.The ontology framework of design scenario knowledge,design object knowledge and design normative knowledge,is established,and the mapping relationship among them is established.Six kinds of knowledge-based design innovation strategies,such as knowledge disassembly and extraction,knowledge combination and knowledge mutual construction,are extracted.Based on the above research results,a design process based on the flow of design knowledge in "good design" is established,and its rationality and effectiveness are verified by a case study of "children's intelligent learning products".The path of design knowledge supporting and supplementing the first and third design knowledge flows in "good design" is explored.After all the research,DKF-GD model is proved that it can enriche the flow of design knowledge under the distributed resource environment,provide an effective path for industrial designers to improve their design ability by using existing knowledge,enable the government,enterprises,design organizations and other relevant subjects to pay attention to the improvement of design ability,then respond to national policies through innovative talent training.
